Think for yourself
Question authority

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening,
terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in
this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the
religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by
giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their
view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and
learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness;
chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself.

Think for yourself.
Question authority.

I just listen to authority for one simple reason, I have no self guidelines, long story. But its true.

yes, good. ALWAYS think for yourself. QUESTION EVERYTHING. Prove things for yourself.

that is the PRIMARY lesson you learn in College

I have a hard time doing the think for yourself thing, and not follow the guideline or formula. All my years of school, we've been lead by guidelines and formulas. Now our English teacher decided to go on the THINK mission and make us all have to think on our own. I'm falling apart. It's like trying to read a instruction manual written all in chinese. If we were tought to think from an early on age I don't think this would be such a problem now. However due to government "policy" we are forced to follow the formula and do things by the book in order to get higher "test scores" so we don't look as dumb as we really are. In school we are tought nothing but to pass a government standerzied test and we learn nothing else. No core values or things that are going to help us later on in life. The whole system is skewed. We are at a loss.

Thinking for yourself is nothing new and I agree you should not blindly follow anything someone tells you. Ya and everyone loves the rebel in the the movies, but my experience as taught me that rebels in real life are the kinds of people that can get you in a shit load of trouble or dead. icon_rolleyes.gif

when you get to college fx, you learn to question everything and take NOTHING at face value. when you are young in primary school, you do not have the experience or knowledge base to think on your own,

when you get to higher levels, you learn to derive, not to memorize.

take mathematics for instance, when they teach kids how to devide, they give you rules and guildlines. when you get to the higher levels of Calculus, you learn how it REALLY works and WHY. they cannot teach kids that stuff, they are completly unprepared to deal with that much information.

The mathematics that make our calculatiors work were completely understood in the 1700's.. imagine that! I am talking about Power Series fucntions..... McClauren and Taylor Power series. That shit is sooooo cool. What you learn is that everything is addition.. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is all done with power series in electronics... its ALL addititon!

And when you get an ERROR on your calculator, it is a DIVERGENT series....the values diverge into infinity. When you get a single value, it is a convergent series.... the values converge to a value.

Cool stuff eh?
