Saw this in a forum one of my friends frequents.

Hi my good friend Bert, he goes by the name MuGen PoWeR on here, just totalled his car doing over 100 i am guessing. right now he is in critical condition, and thwey cant airlift him to the hospital in miami because he is too unstable at the moment. The details are vague, my friend who lives down there just have me a call to tell me what happened. Apparently he was racing on a bridge and lost control. I am going to see him once he makes it to the hospital up here in Miami. I cant belive this has happened. Over the past year I have lost 6 friends down there due to racing, I just really hope he makes it.

Bert we are prayin for you man

Folks, street racing isn't where it's at. Leave it to hollywood and take your guts, if you will, to the track and keep yourself safe. Always wear your seatbelt. It's saved me before, and I'm sure it would save you too.

UPDATE: he has massive head trauma, broken arm, and he wasnt breathing when they airlifted him. this does not look good.

Guess the story was a bit old, the guy, Bert is now dead.

Apparantly he was racing someone where the new pavement tuened to the old pavement where he lost control, slamming the drivers side door into a pole which sent the car into a flip

HE was raciong a IS300 and they were coming up on the bridge, and theres a slight curve before it. he came around the curve and saw 2 cars in each lane. so he hit the brakes and tried to make the off ramp next to the bridge. but he hit gravel, got sideways, proceded to roll a few times, where he went into the pole. He DID have his seatbelt on, but the flipand the force of hitting the pole was too much. The car is just a mess as you can imagine. I will try to sneak back into where it is and take some pics. Ironically, last night a motorcycle wrecked at the EXACT same spot at the EXACT same time, just a day later, really eerie.......

That hits very close to home. After I got in my accident on july 4th 02, just a few weeks later there was a wreck in the exact same spot where I wrecked my car. I feel compassion for his family, but I show none for irrational driving. Take it to the track if you have something to show off.

sorry to hear that about your friend. I hope he recovers fully with no permanent damage to his body or mind.

Ok, without getting on my soapbox too high, and you all know I love to get on my soapbox.....

Take it to the track is the exact same thing I tell the little speed racer wanna-be's that I pull over for "racing" on the 4 lane highway! I explain to them how racing on a street really don't count for anything. The guy you are racing can just say there was traffic ahead of him and he didn't want to risk swerving in and out of cars to pass you, that's why he lost. Take it to the track. Everything is sterile there and even.

It's a very sad story indeed, all of your thoughts are appreciated, i'll be happy to pass them along to the family. This just reminds us how short life really is. So young, only 17 had his whole life ahead of him.
