A few weeks ago my friend gave me a modding project. He bought one of the old Fragboxes from
Falcon NW back around 2000. The motherboard is now obsolete, but the case size and overall aesthetics make it an irresistible challenge. I've got the power supply, the graphics card, and the wireless card all set up. The problem is that the base area for the motherboard has to be 190mm X 215mm at the most. that's 19cm X 21.5cm, to make it easier to visualize.
I just spent 2 hours looking all over for Small Form Factor boards with at least 1x PCI-Express and 1x PCI slots. I just need to fit in a nice, hopefully GE-Force series 9

, graphics card (hence the PCI-E) and a wireless G or N card (hence the PCI). Most of the stand-alone SFF motherboards only have one PCI slot, and rely on on-board graphics. The best matched boards that I can find aren't stand-alone, but sold built into
Shuttle computers. Does anyone know of a site where I can find SFF boards that might work? Unfortunately, since the goal of this seemingly impossible project is to make a portable gaming computer, I can't settle for anything less.
Shuttle leaked that they were going to release a stand-alone motherboard for upgrade purposes a year or two ago. Since this miracle board still hasn't come out, I'm pretty sure that they gave up on it.
The original Fragbox motherboard was not actually a SFF board, but a custom ATX. I'll keep looking for one, but if anyone has any ideas, please share.
