You can uninstall IE7 from add/remove programs. When running windows update next time, choose custom, then when IE7 is displayed as an update, click the + button unselect it and choose Don't ask again.

Try switching it so that you dont have thumbnail view.

Set your system up to show hidden files and folders and then delete the thumbs.db file. Close and re-open the folder then switch to thumbnail view.

For some strange reasons it happens when FF's installed and try to run IE. Try using FF as default browser. It's a lot better than IE.

well i found the problem , drive was going south. i could format , reinstall and 1-2 boots and something else was gone (MBR) INI file you name it. Finding a non sata drive local is impossible. Did look at some 1 tb sata drives 3 bills.
