Full Version: Some Clarity on issues in the U.S.

This comes in three parts:

Part 1

In just two years. Remember the election in 2006?

Thought you might like to read the following:

A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;

2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;

3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1) Consumer confidence plummet;

2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;

3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);

4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);

5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;

6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!

Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Quote of the Day........'My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it.' -- Barrack Obama

Part 2:

Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.

http://www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html

Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008

Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500

Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500

Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750

Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000

Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750

Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates

It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

PART 3:

You think the war in Iraq is costing us too much?

Read this:

Boy am I confused. I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that is bankrupting us.

I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.

I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them.

I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year by state governments. Verify at: http://tinyurl.com/zob77

9. $200 Billion Dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens. Verify at: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the US

Verify at: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.html

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin and marijuana, crossed into the U. S from the Southern border.

Verify at: Homeland Security Report: http://tinyurl.com/t9sht

12. The National Policy Institute, 'estimated that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.'

Verify at: http://www.nationalpolicyinstitute.org/pdf/deportation.pdf

13. In 2006 illegal aliens sent home $45 BILLION in remittances back to their countries of origin.

Verify at: http://www.drdsk.com/articleshtml

The total cost is a whopping $ 338.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR.

Why are we THAT stupid?

If this doesn't bother you then just delete the message. If, on the other hand, if it does raise the hair on the back of your neck, I hope you forward it to every legal resident in the country including every representative in Washington, D.C. - five times a week for as long as it takes to restore some semblance of intelligence in our policies and enforcement thereof.

That never hurts. Just like the videos going around about Obama. He is now a terrorist, anti-white, America hating person who is out to destroy the US.

You can tell when one side is getting scared...the reaching gets worse and worse. icon_rolleyes.gif

A good source to find out where a person is coming from, is to read what the author has written in a few books that he has published. It takes time to put together a book that you want your name on, and that you wish to be remembered by others for doing. Since many people do not have much of a concept of where one is coming from, this is a good start-in fact, the public library is a good place to check out a few books that Senator Obama has written, thereby making up their own minds if this guy lays golden eggs, or is just a ham sandwich! icon_smile.gif

Given that he raised his family in "Reverand" White's church for 20 years, I would say the racist bit might well be uncomfortably close to home.

To check this theory, read his wife's Doctoral thesis.

How's he plan to unite the country?

How's he plan to "Change" things? Specifically, what is he going to do- -and don't try anything funny with the math, because that $4000 tax credit for students Will Not Work.

Elected or not, he'll never be my leader.

If HillBama is the best the Democrats have to offer, I'd say we haven't anything to worry about. Despite Hillary's attempts to Socialize the country.

After 8 years of Bush, who nothing is his fault, how much worse can we get?

I am not saying that Obama is the answer...I am not convinced that any of the 3 are good choices. I have nothing against McCain either, as a man. As a president...I see no answer there either.

As long as Bush is gone...we will not be any worse with anybody.

Perhaps you're having trouble with comprehending what I'm saying:

I, personally, would not vote for Barack Hussein Obamaif he were the only one running and I was made to.

Regarding Canada: I'm sure it's nice, lovely even, and I'd sure love to visit someday. But I wouldn't live in a country that doesn't recognize a citizen's right to defend themselves. Banning arms hasn't done much to improve your levels of violent crime. However, that's another discussion entirely.

PS: Your beer sucks. so does your liquor. Sorry, the Scot in me won't allow anything else to be said of Canadian hooch. ;P

My vote is for bull, e.g., honesty, integrity, good nature, is into family, friends, does beer, and pizza too. He has my vote .... thumbup1.gif Besides, and most importantly, President Bush has never invited me to any of his barbecues in Texas! All the other current contenders for office, perhaps should just keep running. Clinton has been ungraciously fed to the wolves by her party-not a very good outcome for much of the work she has done, i.e., working with close "friends" that were loyal only as long it was to their self interests. Obama, is into writing too-generally what appears to be drama adventure fiction-he, and his wife have made millions as well, which indicates fairy tales are still in for big folks, i.e., along with Saturday morning cartoons too; still, McCain may currently be under contract with SNL, and definitely is the best spokes person the AARP they ever had-that is, except for yours truly. help.gif Maybe a Hollywood star would work, perhaps Indiana Jones, and the Rock for VP, might make a good team! thumbup1.gif

Right, because everything is bush's fault.

"Global warming" (which is of course, complete horseshit): bush

Katrina: bush

etc, etc.

The siren song of the remarkably misinformed Loony Left.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of everything he's done. And McCain could have a better stance on some things- but you don't vote for the perfect candidate- because the perfect candidate does not exist.

You vote for the candidate who is the best available of the choices in front of you.

Clinton? Hell no- -we've seen what happened there.

Barack Hussein Obama? Not a chance. If not for his grinning "Change" gang which has a tizzy everytime he suggests some vague "change", and the fact he has a dark complexion, he'd not be as popular as he is.

Nevermind the dem's candidates' stance on the basis of all of our freedoms- the 2nd amendment.

McCain- much more like what the country needs. Not perfect, but the best of the three possible choices.

Plus, it will be nice to not have to hear some mythological power ("God") referred to ad infinitum in political speeches.

My notation was not specifically to you, but to all that do not know very much about Senator Obama-reading where he comes from, especially when written by him, should provide enough information for a person really to make a responsible decision to vote for him or not. Again, Canada is a good country, and a strong supporter of the United States. Yes, do like their friendship, women, beer and pizza-also, like drink from Scotland as well. In fact, just about all countries have good booze, food, women, and for the most part, are friendly too! BTW, did visit with many that hunted in Canada, and they had all types, and kinds of firearms. Suspect that each area Provence has a different take on firearms, and access to them.

In terms of voting, do consider Senator Obama more like a train wreck, a flat zero for oratory skills, and intellectual coherence. Although, a law graduate, and editor of the Law Review at Harvard-for two years-(does not say much for Harvard-currently) consider him to be an uninspiring leader, that is loved by an upside down press-and young women, that swoon at large meetings, and that are staged to promote his sales job. Perhaps, he should consider doing acting professionally, instead of now part time? There are now any number of men and women, (all good choices) representing all types, shapes, colors, in any number of communities, and states, that can replace this person with out very much difficulty, or in fact, any of the others as well. icon_smile.gif

What about $4 gas prices?

The fact that home forclosures are at a record high?

The fact that the only reason that they are not calling this a depression is that it is an election year?

I am not saying that any of this is directly his fault, but I sure as hell don't see him (or anybody else) lifting a finger to help the situation.

Do believe that President Bush is a good cook and does wonderful barbecue-never invited to one, still neighbors say it is glorious to see, and smells wonderful! In terms of issues that bull noted, like any CEO whose time has come, and gone ... soon there will be a new person in office, for how long, and who that may be? The old CEO will no longer be there to be kicked around by the press any more, sort of similar to President Nixon. Notice, in addition, that while in office, no one has flatten any more buildings in New York City. Nor, did any other bad guys attack anywhere about the country-a good record indeed, especially, at time of war-which apparently, the press have forgotten about in there quest for making news, and producing their horrible hour, after hour drawn out stories, e.g., of their personal plight, and suffering for consumerism, along with most others who lives are now more painful than before the attack on the United States.

Clearly, President Bush could have conducted the war better, and balanced the social needs and conditions at home at the same time, not unlike a President Johnson during the Vietnam era-that indicated we could have both "Guns and Butter" at the same time! That seems now to be even a greater fairy tale for most to accept. Especially, when wars in the United States are limited to about 45 minutes, with about 15 minutes for commercials-an ongoing war is preposterous, Especially, since the days of Vietnam, i.e., according to the press, and those with very little experience that just 'know' how to resolve this issue! BTW, the war in Vietnam should have been a war to end all wars in terms of those killed and injured ... as you can see, Unfortunately, each generation must experience these atrocities endlessly-not very bright, or healthy.

In terms of the economy, for a few, there is not a problem, except finding a competent gardener today, and others in the service sector-goods and services have not become an issue, and gas is easier to pump at the local stations because they do not seem as crowded as before. For many others, there is a recession where life is more strained, less driving, and TV watching with less beer is more in lately! For still, a growing number of others, a depression exists-like no house, job, medical benefits, and food ... easy to check out the numbers by doing the census department, and checking out each of these areas over different decades to compare and contrast.

Yes, it is time for a new CEO! Still, selecting someone that is competent, and who will hopefully do their best, whatever party they are with, would go a long way for starters-good luck. End of chapter one! icon_smile.gif

Market forces-- you do realize China is industrializing and trading their bikes for cars, I trust? Also, they're buying up all the oil they can find.
Also, the Greenies are fucking the country pretty hardcore, with not allowing us to drill for oil here at home. We're sitting on more oil than is in Arabia and can't touch it.

QUOTE
The fact that home forclosures are at a record high?

Caused by people who couldn't afford houses getting loans they couldn't afford. "Predatory lending" is another word for it.
This is not a function of the Government- it is a function of the free market and people with no sense. Do you really support the idea of the government controlling the economy? That's Communism, not Democracy.

QUOTE
The fact that the only reason that they are not calling this a depression is that it is an election year?

I think calling this a Depression is overstating things, dramatically. I am not an expert on economic theory, but have been reading up on the Great Depression and similar lately.

Hard to say. I know I see a lot of people crying for the government to help. That's NOT the government's job. Unless one wants to live in a nanny state?

Those who want a nanny state and don't want to take responsibility for themselves often vote democrat. In that case, I can only observe the similarities between Obama and Jimmy Carter- and we know what a trainwreck Carter was. Things will get MUCH worse with either of the present Dem contenders in office.

Yes, a major census is every ten years, fortunately, data continues to be gathered, and analyzed during the decade before another complete general census is taken-Just go to the United States Census Department, and check out their many different areas of ongoing work, and continued field research. OK, I learned something. Thanks for it. icon_wink.gif

However, that still doesn't mean it's the Government's fault that predatory lenders' chickens are coming to roost.

Owning a house is expensive. It is a responsiblity, not a right.

Many people would be well-advised to stay the hell away from home ownership and easy credit. Some folks just don't learn.

There are many people to choose from in any party we have in the United States. Idea is that many will not have money to back their run for president, nor any form of organized party to work for them that the party did not select. E.g., notice the party, and press put down for Clinton, a "female" and a Democrat, and McCain, a Republican and an "old guy"- that apparently the press like to rip apart, even though an honored vet that has many years of service like Clinton,of on the job experience. Yet, there is Obama, and of course, the press has a problem with him-because they can not walk on water like he does, nor read any of his published books-therefore, information on him is limited to those that can not read. Then it is problematic any critical features will come out of any press conference especially because they are held when he is eating, and it is difficult to talk and chew at the same time-especially pancakes with Maple syrup on them-Hmmm .... he does eat well, but Clinton likes beer too, along with McCain who has an attractive and smart partner! icon_smile.gif

Yes, Jesse Ventura would be an interesting vote, and he has demonstrated his courage as a Navy Seal, and being bounced about in the ring professionally, as well as a Governor.

Personally, Like the Governor of California-many call him the 'Terminator' with a heart-not real of course, made up of circuits, and motherboards-both Intel and AMD. Sort of a Timex politically-"takes a beating, but keeps on ticking" - do like his movies! icon_smile.gif

I think McCain is a great man, but I am not sure he will make a great president. I just see a touch of instability there...maybe it's just me.

Of the choices, McCain has the most experience in legislature

3 years in the Senate, not really doing anything at all= not experienced for the job. Nevermind Hussein Obama's 2A stance

5(?) years in the Senate, again not really doing anything, and flipflopping all over the place=about the same as above. And she's a Clinton.

McCain= of the three, the best available choice. He's a moderate Republican. It'll be nice to not hear about this fictitious "god" in every SOTU speech.

The biggest reason for "Bush Derangement Syndrome" is the left wing media, nothing more. Just look how they "convinced" so many people on the global warming crap.
Dragonfly
There was a time when the media just did the news-what ever happened? Now, the idea is a news show, with all types of news casters doing opinion instead of fact, and supporting each other, interviewing each other, and for the most, supporting more so than not, left wing ideological issues. The environmentalists movement for the most part, has been inundated with left wing intellectuals, i.e., after the fall of the USSR, when it was not any longer fashionable to be in the some of the major universities, many indeed left. Never fear, many are still indeed there, somewhat older now, and some have a few younger students to take on their work, with some even going into the political arenas again, and these are quite supportive of environmental issues. That is, like no domestic drilling, or doing new atomic power plants, new refineries, and so on. Many environmentalists really know the law, and use it. Yet, many do not trust that the American people can understand the law, and make their own decisions, e.g., that manufactures, and those that do many projects that are now redline by environments, really understand and appreciate being responsible for their actions. BTW, those that do cheat, and brake the law can find themselves doing a little time too.

It is time for a new presidential CEO, unfortunately those that are being pushed now, really do not cut it from my point of view, but am open to McCain at this moment. Frankly, do hope he can clarify what, and how he intends to deal with some of these issues, and concerns better than what he has been doing. Especially, when a ton of loot is being established by his opposition to do all sorts of magic, and games with the net, and general media advertising. Find this entire political mess absolutely unnecessary, and but definately mismanaged by our leaders-both in the Congress and the Senate .... quite discouraging indeed! help.gif

just had a guy at work show me this "Zeitgeist" thing on Google video.

what a steaming pile. Supposedly, the WTC was an inside job, and there were demot teams wiring the building to drop, etc.

The ironic bit?

He's going on about the horrors of the Federal government, etc... and yet.. who's he working for?

The Federal Government.

Damned leftists.
