1st, had power out this morning for about 3 hours, then this evening, went to replace the other toilet valve, got it replaced, then when I went to turn on the water, the friggin valve fell apart (small flood). Meanwhile, scrambled to Lowe's for a new valve, GOT THE WRONG DAMN ONE!!! 8.gif Looked like it needed a 1/2" threaded inlet, but turns out it's 1/2" compression icon_evil.gif . So.... have a drumstick jammed in the pipe, and water back on, just have to call in to work tomorrow and say I won't be there. I did turn the water on slightly outside so to not build up too much pressure to blow the drumstick out. help.gif

Ace ... few ways, obviously, best to replace valve with proper valve. if not possible-timing issues, and a copper pipe line, shut off water, and just cap-off untill able to get to have time to work on unit ... number of caps that are compression style/or just weld on. However, if you need to be at work, and the cost works out the same, that is, time lost at work vs a plumber ... do the plumber! Good luck thumbup1.gif Do dislike plumbing too. help.gif

Rough luck, Ace, but I know you'll have it done right in a jiffy once you have the proper parts. icon_smile.gif

I got it fixed. The damn drumstick I jammed down the pipe to cap it off really did the trick. I had to cut it off and drill it out of the pipe. icon_cry.gif
