A Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God
Wherever Flames may rage,
Give me strength to save some life
Whatever Be its age.
Help me embrace a little child
Before it is too late,
Or save an older person from
The horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert and
Hear the weakest shout,
And quickly and efficiently
To put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling
And give the best in me,
To guard my every neighbor
And protect their property.
And if according to your will
I should lose my life,
Please bless with your protecting hand
My children and my wife.

A Fireman's Wife's Prayer
The table's set,
the meal's prepared,
our guests will soon arrive,
My husband once more disappears
with a hope of keeping a child alive.
While waiting at home alone,
our plans having gone awry,
My first impulse is merely to
sit right down and cry.
But soon again I realize the
importance of my life,
When I agreed to take on the duties
of being a fireman's wife.
While there are many drawbacks,
I'll take them in my stride,
Knowing "My Daddy saved a life"
our children can say with pride.
The gusting winds and raging flames
may be his final fate,
But with God's help I can remain
my fireman's faithful mate.

You are most welcome and thanks to Tim and all the rest of the ladies and gentlemen (plus the police, staties, deputies, sheriffs, marshalls and all forces types) that put themselves at risk on behalf of our possessions, our families, our homes and us. Bless them all ways, always.

28.gif usaflag.gif fireman2.gif Tim, you always have my upmost respect for your profession, I certainly cannot do that. I am certainly glad there are people like you who can. (Hug Leigh and the girls for me please).

You're welcome Tim. When we were kids, a lot of us thought atheletes were worthy of our adulation.
However as adults, we hopefully have learned that it is those that come to the plate "every day" on our behalf, raise families and fight/defend for our freedoms from both inside and outside malevolent forces, these same people are and always have been worthy of our respect and deserve honouring on a regular basis.
A sincere thank-you to all that make my (and others) lifes easier and more carefree through your actions and dedication to society and our democratic freedoms.
