Well, I just got back from a matinée showing of the latest Indianna Jones movie. To say I was excited about catching the movie is an understatement. I can't believe it has been 19 years since "The Last Crusade". Jesus, am I really that old?!?!?

Now, I went into the theater not expecting a movie to rival "Raiders of the Lost Ark" but I did expect an Indianna Jones movie.

Don't get me wrong; Harrison Ford is still "the man" when it comes to playing the part and he did what he could with what he was presented with. As much as I hate to say it/admit it, Shia LeBeouf (however you freaking spell his first AND last name) did a decent job. Much better then I expected. Much better then what-his-face playing Anakin Skywalker ever could hope to fill a role. Kate Blanchett plays the role of a Soviet Intelligence/Paranormal/KGB Agent. Usually I like her... but in this movie she was waaaay over the top. Her accent was thicker then Natasha on the old "Rocky and Bullwinkle" cartoon and just about as far as a real Soviet accent as one could get!

You know what, I was going to type this nice little review on the movie but just thinking about it disgusts me!

George Lucas must have corrupted Steven Spielberg somehow and wanted him to kill his franchise as bad as Lucas killed the Star Wars franchise so this way he wouldn't look so bad or something.

The movie started out and within the first few minutes I said to myself "Please, let this get better!"

It. Never. Did.

Now without giving away anything at all that has to do with a spoiler, I am going to be very vague so you can get an idea just how bad this movie was:

It contained Aliens and Spaceships!!!!

Is this how much of a "reach" George and Steven had to go to come up with some sort of relevance of something that contained or resembled a plot?!? George probably said "Ya know what Steve.. Star Wars prequels tanked. Let me throw some spaceships into Indy so maybe it will re-kindle interest in the Star Wars movies again!"

Last time I checked, Indianna Jones was about archeology and not freaking flying saucers and aliens!!!

Just horrible.

They killed the Star Wars franchise and now they killed this one off too.

I am going to pop in my original Indy DVD Collection and watch some real Indianna Jones movies. Because, whatever title the movie I saw today might have had, it was most certainly NOT and Indianna Jones movie!

I hate you George Lucas. You have ruined all the movies from my Childhood that I hold dear! LoL

Thanks for the heads up! Do notice a lot of advertisement on the film-suspect more will come out soon.

Jeez, you know Mike. I am surprised that given the opportunity and platform you didn't tell us how you felt about the movie.

LOL. Just kidding. Actually I'm grateful for the review because I know my buddy is going to start whining about going to this and I thought it was dodgy from the get go. The trailer sucked big time up here in Canada. They played the song too much for my liking, as if they were trying to pluck emotional strings to cover for the lack of substance in the movie. That doesn't spell good news in my book. icon_cry.gif Thanks brother for giving us the skinny on this dog.

In retrospect, the more I thought about it last night, the worse the movie 'played out' in my head.

Do yourselves a favor, download the HD trailer off of Quicktime and watch that over and over again. The trailer was a better movie then the actual movie!

The trailer in Canada sucked arse, full time. The Russian accent from what's her face was one of the worst I've ever heard. Next to my Grade 9 teacher, who was Australian trying to teach us French, I've never heard a worse mangling of a supposed language/accent. Christ on a crutch, that was pathetic.
