If you were rich enough to drive any car you wanted, absolutely any car, and money is no object, what would you go for? A Lambo, Bugatti, Merc, Aston, how about something outrageous like a Formula 1 car.

But what if you were truly rich, not just “getting by” like that Bill Gates guy, but truly rich. The Sultan of Brunei is the richest man on earth; he is not counted on rich lists because he does not earn his money it comes from his tiny country’s oil reserves which are basically his. Estimates of his wealth pop up from time to time but the truth is no one has any idea how much cash he has.

I think if a person is wealthy enough to buy a decent collection is ok but 5000+ cars I think is a little bit too much.

That is an interesting observation Dark. Yet, given that this person is the richest person in the world, suspect that he can have as many cars that he wishes. In terms of excessiveness, it seems that there is a waiting list for people that want to become citizens over there. Why? Because of the social freebies that go with all that oil-money. Part of the money can be yours and mine-at the least a small contribution towards another Rolls. Hmmm ... wonder if we can get a free ride?

How about giving more to charities and benefitting mankind and not one's ego? Just an observation.

I for one welcome the day when we are able to tell asshats like these to piss off and we watch them descend back into the 12th-century shithole their country would otherwise be.

Agree t_b that much of the car money, and money spent on the largest home in the world, could have gone to aid many different areas of human and animal misery. That is his bag, and Karma, to do cars, and conspicuous consumption. When the Bolsheviks come again they will just over through him, and his rule will be over. Much of the wealth of his nation is funneled into hospitals, education, free social services-low food prices and housing for the people, along with low gas prices. This sounds almost socialist or communist .... unless he is frightened of Bolsheviks taking over, and shooting him, like in Russia and the Tzar? Note that the same was said of Bill Gates, who at one time had just over 110 billion $ in personal assets. He in turn possibly was frightened by either by the IRS, or the Bolsheviks in Washington state. Why? Because he now has given billions of dollars away to all sorts of social causes-people still buy his machines, like people still buy the Sultan of Brunei's oil, and keep him richer than gates-per MBF. Think another extra job for $ and food, will work for me-maybe selling Subway sandwiches for starters.

What he does with his own money is his own affair.

Anything else smacks of socialism/communism. No thank you.
