I didn't find these tweaks, so all credit should go to my friend CoZ... thank him not me...
Some peeps want tweaks to eMule Plus, currently v.1d (not emule)... this is what i have...
and CoZ, if you have anything to add or correct, please by all means, do so...
(1) Start up your client...
(2) Under Preferences select Connection
(3) Set Profile to 'Custom'
(4) Client ports are default 4662 UDP 4672 [ ] Disabled (leave unchecked)
(5) Transfer Rates depending on your connection (I set mine to):
Down: 128KB/s Capacities / 128KB/s Limits
Up: 10KB/s Capacities / 10KB/s Limits
(6) Queue Size = 2000 Min=500 Max=5000 (if you get kicked or booted, then tweak it down a bit till you are not disconnected)
(7) Max Connection = 500 in 5 sec 10 (you have to go into your preferences.ini and scale down you Max Connection.
Line to edit is: MaxConnections=1024 (change to 500) only do this if you are getting freeze ups and emule is hanging, otherwise leave untouched)
( 8 ) Leave remote Queue if QR>2000 (unchecked)
Disable Sources Exchange (unchecked)
Disable for files w/ more than --------- [ 360 ] Sources (unchecked)
Show overhead bandwidth (checked)
Enable Lancast (unchecked)
----------------------------------
The rest of the setting and categories are pretty self explainatory.... good luck...

I didn't know the tweaks/tricks were good enough to warrant a thread, but good deal for posting.
Rule of Thumb for Emule/Emule Plus/Overnet or almost any client built on the eDonkey network, you must, at a minimum share OVER 10kb/s to get a decent download speed from the sources to you. So, basically, share 11kb/s on your uploads to get the Max speed that you can on your download. eDonkey is set up sort of like Kazaa had (or still has?) with it's "reward" setting. But unlike Kazaa, it's not built on "the more stuff you have to share, the better your chances are of getting in the Queue or what ever" It's simply built around the download/upload speed settings. Make sure you share over 10kb/s.
eDonkey network is slow, sure. It might take days to get a file. But with eDonkey's unique "hash ID" for each file, the file you are downing is the file you are going to get. There is no way to download a file that is not something you want. For instance if you are looking for a file called "X.mpg" but someone names it "Y.mpg"; eMule knows that they are both the same file and will download from that source. Also, eMule downs files in "parts" and checks them. This way you will NEVER get a bad downloaded file. If a "part" of the file is corrupt, eMule will "flag" it and attempt to re-download that part of the file, thus saving you time in the long run. You don't have to redown a whole 680MB "whatever" after you down it to find out it contains CRC errors.
For those of you NOT running Win2K/XP and want to try a eDonkey client; you CAN NOT set your Max Connections to anything OVER 200 connections. Your machine WILL crash. The older OS'es can not handle that many connections in that short of a time frame.
If, by some reason you set your eDonkey client up wrong and it "hangs on launch" or becomes unstable and you can not go back into the preferences to change a setting, do what Odie told you and fine the "preferences.ini" file and manually change them back. That will stop the hang on load and you will not have to re-install the client.

Thanks for clearing some of that stuff up CoZ.
I have mine set to 10KB/s upload and shit sometimes I get anywhere from 60KB/s to 100KB/s... but i will ramp it up to 11 and give that a try.
Its a sweet program guys, and like coz said you will very rarely if ever get a corrupt file.
I was downloading a 684MB file and 3 parts were corrupted it recovered all 3 parts... sweeeeeeeeeeeet

How does the credit system work? I just noticed the icons showing someone with a high "credit value". Does that get reset if you close it? Is it a per session rating?
