MBF
You won't see this everyday, this a picture of the front and back of a tuyere water hose. A tuyere is the copper insert where the hot air goes into a blast furnace. Flame temp at the nose of the tuyere is 4000 degrees F. Which is why the tuyere is water cooled. One of the tuyeres failed, which happens and the iron burned a portion of the tuyere exposing the water channel. Normally water leaks into the furnace, this time iron came out. Actually quite minor as far as these things go.....I just thought it was kind of a cool pic, to see iron in a water hose.

MBF ... quite a fascinating industry your into-incredible work-can see where it is brutal, and where indeed you can work your butt off, i, e,. unless it is cooked off first! Did read xsome materials to find out a bit more, and although have read about your industry over the years, the amount off stuff to learn, is out of sight! Below have added just a little for those that wish to check out some of your work issues.

That is pretty incredible. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
