I chose not to vote. I understand the sacrifices made to give us this freedom, and that it is our civic duty to vote. But I also feel that I don't know enough (about this election and its candidates) to make an informed decision and voting blind is worse than not voting in my opinion. This year, I just got too caught up in life and school to adequately research each of the candidates.

Too bad - regardless of your principles or convictions, not voting is the exact same as voting for the winner... whether you wanted them or not.
Obama's slogan should've been: "CHANGE - Be careful what you wish for."
'End of Days' are coming, my friends.

Now as sad as it is, Americans will get a taste of Socialism in her own borders with a Marxist for a leader. Many do not even know what some of these things mean and they are too ignorant to listen when others explain it because they got so heart-set on the "Change" that one man says he can create, well folks, change is definitely coming, through an onset of mass American government spending, higher taxes for her people, and ideals shed unto us by a man who isn't even satisfied with the country they are now the leader of...sad days ahead in my most honest of opinions. Maybe after four years of considerable Hell the American people will understand what economics is about, maybe they will finally see what the country needs, maybe eyes will be opened to the harsh reality that is here and now.

Take care of your family, and friends as best as possible. Someone may have to eat their Karma-indeed, perhaps sooner than anticipated according to Senator Biden. What goes around, comes around! Anyone for a cold-one, and pizza?

I'm an Independant, though right of center. I will give the man the benefit of the doubt for the time being. It isn't a bad thing he was elected to office (hopefully), and seems to have the support of most of our allies. His policies scare me though. Barney Frank already said he wants to cut the defense budget by 25%. Where does that leave me as a defense contractor? I think he will find once he gets into office that he will be unable to do what he promised. I just hope that I am able to keep my job.

Well, if Obama gets his way and pulls our troops out of Iraq, then I guess that'll solve the defense budget cuts for awhile, eh?

I have a feeling that not everything they want to do is going to be as easy as they think it will be. Hopefully, things won't be as bad as a lot of us fear - I still have a sinking feeling when it comes to his thoughts of how to handle Israel.

I, for one, think he plans on going about our Iraq situation all wrong. Their militants already look down on us and hate us with a passion, how does it look on us if we pull out of their? It makes us look like cowards in their eyes thus re-raising their moral and gives them a chance to re-up and re-stock their numbers on men and equipment without us their to regulate it and keep them busy/distracted. We need to finish what has been started and come home victorious, not surrender to an enemy that is so low on the totem pole. As for the budget cuts for defense, it's so easy to see that he wants Americans to believe that by cutting the defense budget he will get it into peoples' heads that they are going to save tax dollars, when many know as well as I do that just as much will be payed out just to other government spending. I truly feel for the future that could come to people like Ace here who could be truly hurt by his "Change(s)." I mean I'm only 19 about to turn twenty and even I can see that this is like another Jimmy Carter all over again, and if history repeats itself, as I hope it will (form what I said earlier), this could mean another Reagan to come in and set things back the way they should be. Still as much fear as I have for the American people (especially those who could be potentially hurt by all of these changes), I still can say, whether I like the politicians running it or not, God Bless America! and I'm damn proud to be one of her citizens! >=D

And we give a flying fuck what they think about us? They hate us for being there and they will hate us when we leave, it is a no win anyway.
I think you are giving the president alot more power than he really has. The president cannot make and pass bills. He can only sign what comes his way. He dose not 'make' the budget or raise taxes...that is congress.
What pisses me off more than anything is the fact that damn near every incumbent in the House and Senate got reelected. That is freaking stupid. These morons can't fix a rip in a piece of paper with 3 rolls of tape and they are supposed to fix the economy?
I think that we are in a shit spot right now in many ways and I hope they get better and not worse. I will also give the man the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do. I on the other hand will not give congress the same...they have sucked in the passed and now the same idiots are running it??
4 years goes by pretty quick, let's just hope we are still here then and the Reps can do better than Palin in '12.

I am with what you're saying 110% bull, I personally don't give the man much power if any over me at all. I know that he can't do whatever he wants, I just know he will have a great influence on anyone ignorant enough to follow. And as far as our senate and stuff goes, you are so right, they re-elected the most inept of people to fix things, however at least they didn't get their magic number (60) and they only got 57 (I believe) so if they try to do anything too terrible then then republicans can thankfully filibuster whatever it may be if needed. I like Palin quite a bit but I also have to agree with you on that note that we can do much better for a president in 20012, she would most likely make a good president but I am not willing to gamble a "most likely" in risky times such as this, I am honestly hoping for another "Reagan" to hit office in 2012 and pull us out of this mess just like Ronald Reagan did after Jimmy Carter. =)

Hmmm ... may I recommend for the transition team an old friend-he is very good, and needs work. In this historic case, magic should work just fine-apparently, logic and honor didn't do it this time.
