"Promote then as an object of primary importance, Institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge. In proportion as the structure of a government gives force to public opinion, it is essential that public opinion should be enlightened."

George Washington, Farewell Address, September 19, 1796

On November 4th, 2008 millions of Americans were shocked that a man of Barack Obama's limited experience, extreme liberal positions and radical political alliances could be elected President of the United States. For many of these Americans, the explanation was rather simple... the news media, completely enamored with Obama, simply refused to do their job.

On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed extensively right after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience. The rather shocking video below seeks to provide some insight into which information broke through the news media clutter and which did not.

This is how dumb people think. They have no clue, but it's a sad state of society, not only for us Americans, but for all the world. The media is our own worst enemy right now.

That is a very scientific look at this. You can look anywhere you want and find morons on either side. icon_rolleyes.gif

This matters how??? We need to deal with what we got and hope for the best. That is all we can do. This crap gets us nowhere except more divided.

That, and people like this: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ae7_1226013525

We're not devided, but united. Stand strong and we will prevail. I can give you 100s of samples, even 1000 for the stupidity of people who vote. I just wish they would give an IQ test before you can vote. 30 is not acceptable ;(

I just guess I don't see how this will help us. What's done is done. We have to live with the results. Give the guy a chance to fook up, then we can elect anybody except Palin in '12...assuming the myans aren't right.

We have an over abundance of idiots in this country...that is not a newsflash.

True... can't argue with that logic. But I don't think that was the point of either the post, or the video. While those were fair questions, and seemed like honest answers, it's tough to tell how many were weeded out by the editing.

Not at all. There's nothing wrong with questioning the methods of our leaders. Or at least that's what all of the Bush-haters have been saying for 8 years now. The shoe's simply on the other foot now.

No whining now. The conservatives have been on the receiving end of lots of crap for quite a long time. You can't just expect it to stop and all go away because the other side won. Obama will be vetted by everybody now... not just the media who loves him and with kid gloves.

The problem lies in the voters and the media. There are turely clueless members of congress and their states keep electing them time and time again. This is like a self inflicted wound. Stupid is as stupid does. icon_cry.gif
pappy177
well that's one of the better vids produced by a white supremist group.
what say we give him a chance , the majority elected him , quit being a KKK in disguise ace.
he may do good for the country. We have him for four years and he can't be worse than that asshole from Texas bush.
Give the man a chance.

And I hope he does. I would just like to at least let the guy get in the White House first. I will give him credit for one this so far...it does appear that he is at least trying to surround himself with a good group...well...for the most part.

Never say, "it can't get any worse..." icon_wink.gif

It can ALWAYS get worse. Trust me on that one.

Amen to that. That is where we really fucked ourselves. The President is mostly a figurehead...the Congress is the ones with the most power to screw things up.

And they just keep re-electing them... icon_confused.gif

I'm OK with that... even if his cronies weren't when McCain picked Palin (they had her smeared up one side and down the other before the first weekend was even over).

As far as surrounding himself with a good group. Yeah - whatever... a good group of 'what' exactly? Looks more like an effort to 'keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer' to me.

And that's where we are in complete agreement. I can't get over how that band of self-serving asshats keeps going on and on and on. Based on that point alone, we are truly a stupid country.

Fear of change at the congressional level, once in power the ability to sustain that power gets easier, all other things being equal. Fighting an incumbent that is slick pollitically and media-wise, is like skiing uphill into a fan blown sh*t storm. This is where you learn to talk out of the side of your mouth (trailing edge hopefully) and then forget how to look straight forward again to speak to the populace, if elected.

As a Canadian, I say give the gentleman a chance. Hey, we re-elected Harper with a minority government again and our "French" wanting separation problem hasn't gone away. I feel that if they want to separate that badly, let the asswipes go. As long as they pay the share of the deficit first and with the proviso that they can't use the Canadian dollar as currency, have to give up all Canadian currency they hold and pay for all the infrastructure that the rest of the country helped fund. No problem. icon_evil.gif

Good try Ace, but obviously the people interviewed were trying out for the J. Leno's Tonight show-Person on the Street segment! Clearly, those interviewed all are all very smart, bright people, and have been set-up beforehand by Leno's group! The folks interviewed wanted to make some good money, and have national exposure for future professional advancement, not unlike many contemporary political figures. Did enjoy the Obama, Obama song very much, in the post. Found the song to be quite addictive after a bit-still don't know what it means-but it is rather uncomplicated and catchy, and I sing it going to work now! tongue_smilie.gif Great post Ace! thumbup1.gif
