You should go optical whichever way you go, they are so much nicer. I know you may have a hard time giving up your balls, but it is worth it.

in whatever example you are choosing, buy an OPTICAL mouse. for that work you do, you need the precision. wheel's suck in every way, and don't have a longlasting effect either. both logitech and microsoft makes very good clicketyclicks, so buy one of those. feel it before you buy, and don't be cheap. the mouse is probably the one thing on your computer you use the most. take care of your hands and shoulders.

I'm with this guy. Bought a new Microsoft one with the tilt wheel (wheel tilts left and right for horizontal scrolling) and returned it for the MX700. Rechargeables and a docking station put this one over the top in my decision-making process.

Gotta agree.... I use a Logitech Trackman Marble, and love it...After using it, I hate going back to mice of any kind, optical or otherwise.

The one wdoll shows above is the one I have, and its great, you'll never want to use a mouse again.
