What do you use to rock out on your puter?? What have you tried and why do you like the one you do? icon_twisted.gif

WINAMP Baby, it kicks the lamas a***.

Y? Well, it has a nice easy to use interface, very user friendly, havent had any problems with it. But I do wish that it could rip cds to mp3 format. Or it might, so show me how. icon_biggrin.gif

I have tried several, including MMJB, Winamp, coolplayer and icon_evil.gif real player icon_evil.gif (b4 I knew better).

I keep going back to MMJB. I feel that it has the best overall features and sound quality. I know it is kind of a hog, but i feel the payoff is there. Love the burning program!! icon_smile.gif

Winamp comes a close 2nd. It is small, free and has alot of cool plugins. But for me, the sound is just not quite as good as MMJB.

I used to use Sonique way back in the day when IMHO they were way ahead of Winamp... now it's Winamp all the way.

Although that may all change once Sonique releases the Player 2.0. But then again, Winamp 3.0 is dangerously closed to being relased as well. So who knows which program will take the precious coveted "Mp3 player" spot on my computer?

WinAmp all the way.
stable as hell, no resource hog (as long as youre not including your complete mp3 collection in the playlist anyway icon_redface.gif ), and zillions of skins available.

only thing ive found worthy of complaint is the shuffle feature which seems to choose the same songs over and over when the song count in the playlist exceeds a few hundred.

I have found the same thing. Just a minor annoyance amongst a great mp3 et al player

have tried winamp, sonique, mediaplayer, realplayer, creative's sb player (dont know what its called), and pcdj...

personally i have to give it to pcdj as it allows more than just simply playing the song, ie. mixing, bpm matching, fading, etc. (although u have to pay for the professional versions, but i think they have a free player on their site...not sure though)but otherwise, winamp is the only other player id consider.... winamp3 should be good icon_eek.gif

I personally just use winamp with my s/c output to my Sony stereo.

700W RMS surround sound beats computer speakers anyday, regardless of the set-up icon_lol.gif

WINAMP.... IT REALLY KICKS THE LAMA'S ASS!

WMP is not bad these days but I dont want to fuck with settings.. I want the damned app to check CDDB for my cd when I play it... Winamp does just that.

What the heck is MMJB?

I use Siren 2.0c, and J. River Media Jukebox 8.

I can't stand Winamp because it's like a Geo Metro compared to those two. However, I do have it on my system. Just never use it.

Beoplayer is very nice as well.

MusicMatch Jukebox. Bloated, but damn good sound, recording and burning. icon_cool.gif

I've tried that one too, but wasn't to impressed with it. Never used the retail version though.

If I was you I would not do that. You can easily get a virus or a worm by not scanning the files you download from the P - P networks.
