Full Version: The real deal about Klipsch GMX-D5.1

The GMXs dont include an analog 5.1 output. Only digital.
In the case of PC audio digital outputs only output PCM stero signals, not the multichannel outputs Dolby 5.1 needs. Creative Aud. 2, Aud 1, and SB Live dont work well with these speakers. Your basicaly getting expensive 2.0 speakers usin these cards.
If your have an nforce or nforce 2 then these speakers are great.....otherwise steer clear.
I found this info while I was trying to decide wheather to use my Aud.2 or my onboard.
Hope this helps you Odie.

YES IT DOES!!! thanks a mill. Biggy!

But they are nicer speakers!!! too bad they make it so damn complicating for people without digi output. icon_cry.gif

Sound card is irrelivant as long as the card has an SPDIF then you send the digital sound to an external decoder for decoding, you would never let the Audigy decode 5.1 as its done via software.

good thing to hear that the king of speakers have an actual digital input. they should have both analog and digital tho.

I'm not shelling out 450CDN (converted) to find out... I will email Klipsch directly...
