Just wondering what ppl use for the cooling of their CPU's.
At the mo, I am using HSF, but am looking at water.

dangerden.com has a range.
quite expensive buying it as a kit though, might wanna look into just buying a waterblock and buying your own pump/tubing etc.
as for me, Volcano7+,

globlwin wbk for me little 1.2 @ 1.37
well if you dont want to hack up your case you could try looking for a set top box which has everything in it (rad, pump, reservoir) my firend is desiging one for his major DAT project... or you could look at buying a new case with watercooling already init...
i haven got any links at the moment.. but if i come across them again i will post for ya

standard CoolerMaster crap HSF with an 80mm fan blowing. home made 60mm -> 80mm converter out of cardboard and duct tape
it keeps the noise down very well.
water looks interesting but it's a money thing

just the volcano 7+... im interested in all that watercooling/peltier stuff, but just dont have the time and resources, plus theres no point in paying someone to do it for you (cause wheres the fun in that?)

thats just a hassle... how would u like to clean up your components after its been dipped in oil? plus i think you have to regularly change the oil...

Well there is just something about water and electronics that just sounds a little strange, just a small leak and its all over. I am sure it works great but for the cost I can get a faster cpu and still use my HSF.

Zalman CMPS-7000 HSF, this fan rocks. I too have a problem mixing water and electronics.

I used to have a SLK-800 heat sink and Antec Smart Fan on my CPU but the noise got to me so I put the stock heat sink and fan back on.

SLK-800 with a quiet fan on it, keeps a 2600XP at 38'C

I did have a Delta Screamer on it, for about a day, had to take it out before my ears bled! But it did keep it at 33'C

I am currently using a Thermaltake Volcano 10 with an AMD stock fan and a 60mm to 80mm adapter and a 80MM TT fan on top. So 2 fans. Its very nice.

My Vantec HSF works great for me. I have looked into water cooling. Maybe down the road when I want to crank up the horsepower a bit. Probably have to wait until I build the wife her own computer though. She probably would not be thrilled about pumping water through our only computer.

how much do those water cooling systems go for now a days

Koolance case with water cooling-200 to 260
Innovatek kit-about 250
Swiftech case with water cooling-350 to 400
If your short on cash, Thermaltake has a kit for about 100+
I wouldn’t recommend a cheap kit when your dealing with water.
A Koolance case like paps is a good value.
