A buddy of mine (yes I do have friends) has a system with a SB PCI 128 Card in it and he recently bought himself some 4.1 surround speakers at the local staples/business depot.

Problem is he can't get sound fromt he rear speakers. I know the card supports 4.1 sound, he set the sound settings in XP Pro to quadrophonic but he gets nothing. They work on my system, we tested them here.

Is there something he is not doing that he should have?

Any help?

install the creative drivers for that card. not the default ones supplied with windows. like the graphics-drivers supplied on the cd, it lacks some hardware-supported features on certain soundcards too

yer with those drivers ull be able to set 4.1 and should work from then
