Windows Media Player will play DAT files.

You have to select the file and then hit the "open with..." command and select Windows Media Player.

i've never gotten that to work. install some codec pack, like nimo or k-lite, and stuff will run smoothly. it's even got an own dvd-decoder now, so you won't have to buy that either

nimo [download the lite version, pro is for advanced users and rippers]

k-lite [download the basic version. same reason as above]

DAT files are best viewed with a DVD player. try PowerDVD or WinDVD
