I am thinking the Creative Inspire 6.1 6600 are better......
mind you I don't have much to spend on them so I want a cheap but ok pair... no kelipsh or THX speakers... shes not made of money....
odie
I'd go with the Logitech Z-640 if you want lots of bass and loud speakers...

but... on the other hand... I like creatives speakers too... crisp, clean and nice.

Verdict... Creative...
Mandark
i agree with the creative system if you can afford it
Fyend
Yep those Creative's kick ass and are often on sale. I think I paid $79 for the 6.1's a few months ago and $59 for the 5.1's

I am the master of getting the best deal icon_wink.gif

You cannot go wrong with the Creative speakers, they are Creative by name only - Cambridge Soundworks make the speakers (owned by Creative now) and they are a good speaker manufacturer.

Make full use of the Audigy 2 and get the 6.1 Speakers.

I would say go with the Logitech Z-640's. More RMS power plus the 25.7 for the woofer. More power is nice and those speakers get loud and don't distort. I've listened to a couple sets of Creative speakers and I was not impressed by the sound quality at all. Most times the poor excuse they gave as a subwoofer sounded like a tin can. The only exception was a 5.1 setup I heard once which had a woofer with a long-throw in it and it didn't sound as bad as the other sets I heard. Also, the sets I heard used a plastic face plate on the front of the woofer, kinda shaped like a shoebox woofer, and the plastic would rattle like hell if you had music with a strong bass line or a explosion in a movie.

Go for the Logitech's IMHO (and just to be different since everyone else likes Creative) icon_biggrin.gif

I gave up on speaker sets all together, I run a RCA cable to my stereo, Kenwood XD-A75. 300W of blasting fun:)

Think I am going to get the logitech's... I know logitech as a company better... and i found out one thing that is cool.... they come with a rca adapter so I and plug them into my PS2 or dvd player... icon_biggrin.gif

My DTT3500 sub woofer does not have a plastic faceplate and does not rattle. the entire system will deafen us and our neighbors and NEVER EVER distorts... not that I can detect anyway.

HAHA You may have broadband BUT you do not live where I live, there are no neighbors to bother me or call the cops if I decide to crank the music.

When I work outside I just turn my stereo up a bit so I can hear the music outside nice and clear. With all the windows up in my house of course, don't want to a/c the whole lot of gods country:)

Try Boston Acoustic... I got a set with a Gateway system a couple of years ago and even thought they're not 5.1, 6.1, 7.1 or AGillion.1 - they do the trick and have a wide range.
