thinking about getting a fan controller.... found a relatively cheap DIY one where i can drill into my black bezel.... it supports 6 fans up to 6W each...

would that be that sufficient for most types of fans??

6w....

most fans are measured in Volts and Amps....

you'd have to do a little reseach on your fans...

You have to convert the V & A to Watts- can't remember where I saw the conversion, but it exists.

You want 12 volts going to your fans to get maximum power, thats what most are rated at anyway icon_smile.gif

6W is sufficient to run the large 120mm Sunon/GlobalWin Fans and they are more than enough for the 60 and 80mm fans. Just make sure that you dont hook more than one 120mm and more than 2 60mm or 2 80mm to one switch and you should be fine.

There should be a current rating on your fans. For example my Global Win 120mm reads 12V, 0.25A. Hence its rated at 3W. My sunnon 120mm is more powerful but there is no way its rated over 6W.

For those interested, there are some extremely attractive rheobus kits for $75 at www.pccasegear.com. These ones can handle 11W per knob and the higher model ($119) can do 17W

I'm not sure what you mean, if you could explain it in a bit more detail maybe I can help you out.

ok ummm.... lemme try to explain again...

my case has a front sliding cover. u press the button on the top, the front cover slides down. to close it, u slide the cover back up.

now, between the cover and the 5 1/4 faceplates, there is just over 1cm of space. if the fan controller has any part that sticks out more than 1cm, then i cant close my cover.... icon_eek.gif

did that help? icon_smile.gif
