Not joke, thought it would be useful.
Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. and you're driving
home alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You're
really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing
severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm
and
up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital
nearest your home; unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to
make it that far. What can you do? You've been trained in CPR but the
guy that taught the course neglected to tell you how to perform it on
yourself. Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart
attack;
this article seemed to be in order.
Without help, the person whose heart stops beating properly and who
begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing
consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing
repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before
each cough. The cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing
sputum from deep inside the chest. And a cough must be repeated about
every 2 seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to
be beating normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze
the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on
the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack
victims can get to a hospital, and it could save their lives!
Just because I kinda like to keep my friends around. Queen

Taking a couple of aspirin when you first feel the symptoms can help as well - as demonstrated by a close friend of mine who did the very same thing while he was having his. The doctor said it helped, even though he technically died on the table twice.

When i had mine , some 3 years ago i was driveing , slowing down for a very busy intersection.
The pain started as discribed, but an uncontrolling caughing fit started to,I passed out , coasted through the intersection against a red lite (4 lanes each way) and came too as they say in a bank parking lot.
I sat for some 30 min then went to the hospt. driveing very slow.
It turned out this was the secound one in a week , had a angoplasty that nite after stabilized and have been ok sence. (baloone thing)
The dr said the caughing was due to fluid in the lungs and saved my life. I never thought about doing it on purpose but i will damm sure rem that that if it happenes again.
I thank you Queenie!!!

If you add wrist weights you'll increase your strength faster, I'll bet.

you should be aware that it is an urban legend

There is alot of misinformation here... It all depends on what is going on...
Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia (PSVT)People having an episode of PSVT can try to interrupt the episode with a (Vagal) Valsalva maneuver. This consists of holding the breath and straining (i.e., pushing with the abdomen as if to provoke a bowel movement) or
coughing while sitting with the upper body bent forward. Splashing ice water on the face has been reported by some people as helpful.
And when Vagal maneuvers have been tried, you need this
