Please help me with my Klipsch digital promedia GMX 5.1 speakers

My Audigy mp3+ sound card is already configured for 5.1 digital
output; I'm running a Pentium based mobo

I'm obtaining sound in all five speakers, but I'm
only receiving it in two-channels (that is, im getting
traditional 2.1 left-and-right channel sound but with
5.1 speakers). When I ran the speaker test on my sound
card (wherein each speaker is supposed to play at its
assigned turn), Satellite Left plays in tandum with
the Left speaker, Satellite Right plays with the
Right speaker,and Center plays with both; when it is
actually the correct turn for the center, satellite
left, and satellite right speakers to play, nothing
happens.

I've read the thread below this one...but it didn't tell me how to fix it.

I don't think these speakers (though they look kick ass) were designed for SB cards, I think they were more designed for consoles like xbox...

I have yet to come across a place that will tell you how to get them to work on your card.

I was going to buy these myself and decided against it, when these problems arise.

Hey, guess what? After talking to Creative (Klipsch tech was worthless) about this problem they told me that the speaker channel test would only play the satellite speakers in analog. They prompted me to listen to a .ac3 (a 5.1 supported audio file) and, HEY! I'm getting 5 channels in stereo and dolby digital modes!

so whats all this rucuss I've been hearing about how the GMX speakers don't work well with creative cards on forums and reviews?

It seems that no one else has asked Creative's Tech Support for any assistance. That, or they expect all of their sound files to be played as 5.1, no matter what they were recorded as.
