Full Version: NewEgg just lost a customer!

NewEgg is fine at sending out decent products at decent prices, but how are they at helping a customer find a package that has been delivered to the wrong address by FedEx? I can tell you, since it happened to me on 10/27/2003.

NewEgg doesn't give a rat's ass once the package leaves their hands and FedEx says they've delivered it! It is completely within NewEgg's power to file a claim for a lost, damaged, or misdirected package with FedEx and they probably do this nearly every day. In my case, however, I'm just supposed to sit here and pay for the two floppy disk drives that I ordered and was charged for, even though Federal Express gave them to the wrong person! NewEgg's 'Customer Service' person said I should call FedEx and dispute it myself. I tried, you can't get a live person on the phone and there is no option for filing a damage claim or anything else of that nature.

Some might think that the package was stolen. There is about a 0.000001% chance of that happening in the neighborhood I live in. I've had nearly 100 packages delivered to my home and I've only been there to personally receive maybe five of them. Not once has one been taken. That's why I am convinced that the FedEx driver just plain goofed and delivered my package to someone else's house.

All I want are my two floppy disk drives. I ordered them to match a couple of my computer cases, one black and one silver. One was $7.50 and one was $8.99. I'm not trying to scam them out of anything, I just want the parts I ordered.

I won't be ordering anything from NewEgg again and I will tell anyone who asks not to order from them, either.

I'm sorry to hear that Don, I my self enjoy NewEgg. They "lost" my package in there where house.. that I was RMA'ing, took a while but they found it. I had RMA'ed one order, in two boxes. So I can understand the mishap. But, I will continue to order from them. I hope things get cleared up.. icon_redface.gif

Fact is Newegg has an excellent track record, but alas no ones perfect. Im just sorry that Idonyo had to be one of those few people that had a bad experience with them. Work the system Idonyo. I would make everyone that I talked to at Neweggs life miserable until I got what I want.
By the way, until you recieve or sign for the package, the vendor that sold it to you is totaly responsible for it......Newegg knows that...maybe you need to remind them. icon_twisted.gif

If they wont help and you paid with a credit card, call the credit card company and dispute the charges (never recieved product).....They wont have any trouble with newegg. icon_twisted.gif

Good call biggie. The whole sqeaky wheel thing works well in this situation. Although, I do agree that with a company like Newegg, you should not have to go there. Also, make sure that you leave a comment on resellerratings about it, some companies do look at their ratings and try to keep the bad ones out.

Hope you get this delt with promptly. icon_neutral.gif

My wife just called me at work with an interesting development. She was looking out through the back doors and she noticed a package sitting there. At first she thought it was my missing floppy drives and she ran out to get the package. When she picked up the package she noticed that it had absolutely no markings on it. Since she watches way too much CNN and Fox News, she is afraid to open it.

So, I now have a plain brown box sitting in my garage waiting for me to get home this afternoon. More on this story as new developments become available.

Thanks for the support, guys! icon_biggrin.gif

I have decided to withhold my planned barrage of postings until after I find out what is in the box my wife found.

Oh, and I have already looked into the process for disputing a charge with my credit card company, BigO. icon_wink.gif

I like computergeeks, they are nice to me. They even RMA'ed my 1800+ no questions asked icon_smile.gif Good shipping too.

I also buy from CPUSolutions.com they are really good. They don't have a wide base of new products, they have nForce2 boards, Athlon 2800+'s etc, just not the latest and greatest usualy, but they are awesome to work with icon_smile.gif

Here's an idea, we should start a thread or sticky, of businesses that we've had good and bad experiences with. Kinda a 4Peeps BBB project icon_smile.gif

Well, it was my floppy drives! icon_biggrin.gif There was a label on the box, too. It just didn't happen to be on the side of the box that my wife looked at this morning. icon_rolleyes.gif I'll be sure to point that out to her when she gets home from running errands. icon_twisted.gif

I'm still not happy with the way I was treated by NewEgg, however. The complete lack of a suggested course of action or even a smidgen of sympathy still has me pretty pissed at them. 8.gif

I did get a nice email from Roxanne in their Customer Service department that explained why they couldn't go to FedEx themselves (my Signature Release Waiver voids their insurance) and even told me how to get through FedEx's God-awful electronic phone menu to a live person (say "Representative" when prompted and it'll get you to the next living, breathing human)! icon_eek.gif

Because of her, I may order from NewEgg again. If I do, I'll probably choose a different shipping option than FedEx Saver, even though it will cost me money. Then again, I may just start ordering from Directron. They're in Houston, which is closer to me, and their prices don't suck.

The first time I called when FedEx sent a package from NY to Texas to Kansas (destination Texas) I was able to get to a live person at 2 in the morning. You ended up finding out how to get to the person, but do not blame your own incompetance on such a simple thing as waiting to listen on their welcome automation menu.

Chill out veggie boy, leave the insults out of your otherwise good post.

I did listen to their menu and at no time did it mention that a live human being would ever get on the line using any of the oprions given. UPS at least let's you know how to talk directly to a human being within their menu.

BTW, veg, are you still having trouble running the Cat 3.8s on your overclocked, soft-modded, BIOS flashed video card while people that are running their stock cards aren't?
BigO
OK! You both got your shots in....thats enough.

Funny because it isn't. Neither is my roommates 9800. I don't like the Omega drivers and I can't overclock my card since the RAM sucks on it (limited to 280mhz ram, 270 stock). Besides, according to Omega the 3.8s include the r350 path into r300 now and they took out the "soft mod" so I couldn't even do "it" if I wanted to.

Shall I post the thread with hundreds of people of all systems with screenshots and testimony? We've tried every setting known to man, flashed every bios out there, and nothing changes. Funny how it works perfectly on 3.7 yet install the 3.8 (and dell leaks) and bam... corruption. Unless 3.9 fixes it, I might be on the 3.7s for a while. Run those 3.8s on EA sports games. Almost everyone gets bad corruption or no FSAA on EA sports games. I hate EA anyway. They make terrible quality games to make a measily profit. They bought up everyone since they're owned by Vivindi and could care less about us (sure, patch every year or so).

Then again, if Camper Strike still works everything is A-OK?

Oh, and BigO, if you fell like banning us, closing this thread, or deleting our posts, that is just sad. I can't see a hint of foul language and I'm not pissed off at him for any reason. With the measly 20 or so regular members you should feel lucky to have these sort of arguments every month or so.

I don't see anything about banning or locking or anything. You know that they do make hormones to take care of those hot flashes and mood swings. icon_rolleyes.gif

You are right though, the site would have died a long time ago without your witty arguements. Thanks for your continued support. yucky.gif

By the way theres nothing measly about our regular members, even you sweet thang. winkiss.gif

Idonyo, howd it turn out???
ldonyo
Everything turned out fine. icon_biggrin.gif

I am looking for additional places to buy parts from, because my momma told me I'd better shop around. icon_wink.gif I'll probably still order parts from NewEgg if they have something I want at a good price, but I'll try harder to find it somewhere closer to me first.

I've read some good things about Directron and they're in Houston, so it shouldn't take as long for things to get to me. Their prices aren't terrible either and they charge shipping by the size and weight of the package, not flat rate per item like NewEgg, when NewEgg charges shipping.

Veg, I don't doubt you're having trouble with the new Cats. I was getting random lockups that I thought were being caused by a cheap PSU. I rolled back to the 3.7s and the lockups disappeared. However, other than the random lockup I had no issues with any of the games I play, none of which were made by EA. I was really hoping that they would work out, mostly for the NWN fog fix. icon_frown.gif

I have noticed, particularly on the Rage3D thread, that most of the complaint posts come from the same group of folks posting many times. Some of the posts contain new info regarding test results, some of the posts want Catalyst Maker's head (or at least an official response) and a lot of the posts are flames directed at the people that post and say they aren't having any problems at all and suggest that maybe it's the OCing of the cards and the flashing of BIOSes that is really at the heart of the troubles the others are having. (run-on sentence of the year candidate! icon_biggrin.gif )

I have also noticed that it is generally the same people that posted at Rage3D that are posting their problems on every board they go to, which may make the problem look much larger than it really is. Yes, it helps to make people aware of the issues that these posters are having with the Cat 3.8s, but it can also make it look like a small group of people making a lot of noise over something that might not be that big a deal. I hope you can at least appreciate that point of view, even if you don't agree with it.

I like googlegear although they changed their name to something ridiculous, competitve pricing with Newegg and prompt service.

Agreed, and I think their selection is a little better than Newegg.

I just got my wife, HelloKitty, a new rig from Aberdeen Inc. A 2Ghz celeron, case, ps, mobo and 128MB DDR for $296 delivered. Of course a week later and the order only has accounting clreance... icon_evil.gif

But the box has a window and it's an ASUS mobo.

I think Google forced them to change their name. But why they chose ZipZoomFly is a mystery to me! Link to ZipZoomFly

Directron is pretty good to deal with, I order lots of stuff from them. Their delivery is fast, and their prices are pretty good too. I've never had a problem with them.
