Mister 4x4
Finally. Well, at least most of the way. It's up and running, but I'm not too keen about how the artwork came out. So in the next few weeks, I'm going to redo the artwork and hopefully come up with something better, since I'll use vinyl tape as opposed to a water-slip decal sheet.

Hope the wait was worth it - here it is... my Winston Cup Computer.

This picture is the first 'test fit' of the body on the chassis with the hardware installed. Forgot to change the camera from outside to inside pics, which is why it's so blurry.

This one's after the chassis is all squared away and wheels painted.

Here's the other side with the CPU, memory, and 'front panel' switches/LEDs in-place. Finally remembered to switch to 'close-up pics.' (Duh)

Here's a shot of it in action loading Win2K. I left the FDD off intentionally, since who uses FDD's anymore anyway?

Here's the driver's side with the body.

Here's one with the 1/24th scale car it's supposed to be a carbon copy of. As you can see, my decal work needs a little help, and the paint's a little bright under the camera flash. But they're very close under normal light.

Body and chassis - so you can see that they belong together.

And a beauty shot all by itself.

And finally - here's what it's suppose to really look like. What do you think? Did I get close at least?

System specs: Nothin' special. Just a Router and WWW/FTP server: Gigabyte MicroATX mobo w/on-board video, NIC, sound, etc..., 1200Mhz Duron, 512MB PC133 SDRAM, 20GB Maxtor HDD, Laptop CD-ROM, 250w MATX power supply, and completely custom chassis and case.

An exercise is custom case building more than anything for me.

OK - let me have it for dragging you along this long. icon_biggrin.gif

edited for stupid typos after staying up all night to finish.

OMG... I WANT ONE!

MAKE MORe.. SELL THEM.. MAKE MILLIONS!
ldonyo
If you came up with a Dale Earnhardt model, or maybe Dale Earnhardt Jr, you could probably sell several thousand. Of course, you'd probably have to negotiate with his estate for the rights to do so, but it may be worth the trouble.
Mister 4x4
Screw that! Have any idea how much of a PITA that one was?

OK - so it wasn't that bad. I just can't see building custom rigs like that as a lucrative business that could replace my current paycheck. And the current job wouldn't afford me enough time to do the custom rigs as much as I want to.

Mad viscious circle - Bah!

Thanks for the kind words, all.

Damned cool mod Mr 4x4. And to think I followed your preliminary baby steps at modding back at TTZ with Vixen's Egyptian-themed Computer.
Zim
That is awesome!

It may be easier making an Elliot Sadler one, just beat the crap out of it with a hammer, take a wheel off and but some tyre marks on the right hand side,

oh, and make sure its vertical icon_smile.gificon_smile.gif
