If you had enough money to do whatever you wanted and were totally financially secure, how would you pass the majority of your time?

I am a loser...
I would still work (I love what I do), have awesome motorcycles, have a kick ass house and my wife and kids would want for nothing. In my free time I would chat with you monkies on my super computer though.

I might get a Bell Jet Ranger and learn to fly it. Move around a little with a trailer and my new Ford Truck.

i second that. i'd put some money in the bank for security and the future, and then waste the rest on the good things life has to offer

I'd have a nice custom built home with a study full of comps and gadgets. A garage with at least 7 sportscars. I'd divide my time between holidaying with Mrs TGM, the computers, golf and the cars.

Purchase a second home at Alpbach, Austria. Then travel the world filling up my stamp collection on the trip....then find a part time job as I don't think I can stand doing nothing for hours on end.....

I would also get a part time job because I don't think I could handle not being involved in some kind of social activity. I would also build a really cool house and travel the world. I would probably end up spending a lot of time playing video games.

Good question burner. Probably open a computer store that specializes in high performance and gaming. That is something I would really like to do. Some people say they would get bored if they did not have a steady job. I know that there is plenty to do between family stuff, playing with my computer, out on the golf course or just hanging out and doing nothing when I feel like it. I would make sure my kids have an opportunity to take care of themselves. Not gonna financially support them. Just help them get going. Do something for a local charity. There are a butt load of charities out there. I would like to be able to help out here locally. It would be nice to be able to spend most of the summer traveling. I got to see quite a bit while I was in the Navy. A lot more out there though. Ah yes. The life of Riley.

I think I'd take some time to get around and actually meet some of the folks I've come to know over the years and check up on old friends lost by distance - which would also offer opportunity to see parts of the world I'm interested in as well... so going on World Tour would serve my purposes many times over.
Then build a really freaken nice house in the favorite place of my visits and spend much time learning new skills, perfecting known skills, and letting out the ideas that're still stuck in my head. I'm thinking I'd either wind up with some cool stuff that people wanted, or a houseful of junk that some eclectic weirdos will buy at my estate sale once I'm gone.
Thinking maybe also adopt a couple of kids too, since it won't happen naturally - also gotta have someone to leave everything to. But that would have to happen soon, since I wouldn't want my kids to be pushing me around in a wheelchair to attend their graduation ceremonies.

Of course, my pastimes would include 4-wheelin', R/C cars, computers, woodworking, painting, drawing, sculpting, and attending the odd NASCAR 'Cup race here and there.

I would probably buy a nice boat and spend alot of time out on the water around the greta lakes and when fall/winter came spend it travelling.

Amanda wants to drum, is that way cool or what??? Cheers, A. It 'is' great fun. Too bad I didn't go further at it. I wouldn't have been half bad. I enjoyed what little I could do immensely.

Go for it!!!

Mind the motorcycle. I did that too. And it and stupid drivers nearly did me in. Be very very careful with those. They are great fun but a terrible risk. Too many fools on the road. I had a friend teach me the proper way to drive a motorcycle safely and defensively. It literally saved my life on at least two occasions. Take a course if you can, that is best.

I thought about this before. My mom is getting a rather large settlement soon, and with that, I could have my eniter college (including post grad) paid for. In addition, the house we are currently living in will be paid off and left for me and my sister to use, while my parents get some land up near Lake Tahoe/Reno. So if I wanted, I could just stay home, go to school, and have an easy life.
But I don't think I could do that. I am still joining the military. I don't think it about how well you live your life, but more of what you do with your life.

I would set up a number of different shops for my hobbies. Leather goods, woodworking, (electronics, comps, wireless), vehicles, a major library and greenhouse. Would also build an art studio for sculpting and such.
