Explicit love letters written by Michael Jackson to his alleged 12-year-old victim are likely to form the basis of the molestation case against him. Police reportedly found at least a dozen of the letters when they searched the singer's Neverland ranch in Santa Barbara, California - after accuser Gavin Arvizo told officials where to look. A police tells British newspaper the Mail On Sunday, "The district attorney is convinced these letters will be crucial to the case against Jackson. The boy told investigators about letter and poems and their precise location inside Michael's home. These letters were among the evidence seized, along with videotapes. They are very explicit and intimate and show a degree of familiarity. Basically, they appear to be love letters from Michael to the boy." Arvizo has told police that the Thriller singer's nickname for him was Rubba. The insider says, "The boy first told this to his therapist and then repeated it to police. He said Jackson called him 'Rubba' because one of the games they used to play was called 'rubba rubba'. The boy said, 'Michael told me he was my rubba rubba friend.'" Jackson's legal team are reportedly considering entering an insanity plea that would allow him to serve time in a mental hospital instead of prison. There is also speculation that broke Jackson raised the $3 million bail cash with help from lawyer Al Malnik, who used to represent late Mafia boss Meyer Lansky. A source near district attorney Tom Sneddon says, "It just gets weirder and weirder. Michael supposedly has financial problems, but hiring someone with mob connections is bizarre. The District Attorney is very confident with the evidence he has. This includes letters, videos and computer files. They believe they have enough to nail Jackson

That is just odd. Not that we could expect any different with anything that has to do with michael.
As has been said b4, If he is guilty he needs to be prosecuted to the extent of the law. Although, as with most celebrities, he will more than likely get a smack on the hand and a firm talking to, while "regular folks" do time for much less.

First thought? "So much for keeping the innocent victim anonymous."

Seriously...it was all over CNN this morning how no one was going to release the identity of his accuser, so as to protect him. So...his name is Gavin Arvizo, huh? Nice. The way this whole thing is being handled simply disappoints me. As if it's not traumatic enough to be sexually abused, now the kid's name is printed for all the world to see by the "responsible" news media. People, be they adults or kids, treat you differently when they know you've been abused, whether they mean to or not. So by printing this poor kid's name, the media has essentially crucified him before anything further is decided. No matter what ever happens, for the rest of his life <or until he changes his name and creates a false identity, possibly involving plastic surgery since I'm sure they won't stop at just giving his name>, he will be the kid that Michael Jackson had sex with. Which automatically labels him gay, and screwed up because of the abuse. Just exactly what you don't want a kid to have to deal with on top of the fact that they've been traumatized.
Nice going, "responsible" US news media! You've just screwed another kid for life.

Sorry...this one's a little near and dear to me. I tend to think in terms of over-protecting the victim in child sexual abuse cases.

Our local newspaper had the best headline today: Off to neverland for good. Sort of ironic how that stuff works.

You know, the more I think about this... <and trust me, I am the FIRST one to be out for blood when it's proven that someone has sexually abused a child>...
What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? And why is it that we are all so determined that MJ should suffer, when thousands of children are sexually abused every single day by people who are NOT famous, and no one gives a damn? Seriously. Literally thousands of children, if not hundreds of thousands <don't have the statistics in front of me> in the US alone, and no one does anything.
But let a celebrity be so much as accused of doing it, and the entire world is up in arms and saying how awful it is. What about that kid who lives down the block from you? You know, the one with the sad eyes who jumps if someone talks to him/her, who shies away from contact, especially with adults? That kid needs your help, too. And his/her abuser needs to be stopped as well. It's not an outrage just when someone famous does it <who may or may not have, NOT ONE OF US has any proof one way or the other at this point, we all only know what we've seen in the media>, it's an outrage EVERY time it happens, be it someone you've heard of or not.

I dont know what he actually did, but it doesnt matter to me. I could understand a false accusation, maybe even 2, but it seems like whenever you hear MJ you hear something about a child and some accusation.

That would be media hype. This is the second accusation.
You decide.
Edit:
Just looked it up to make sure I wasn't lying. Yup, second accusation. First one was in 1993, no charges filed, rumour has it that it was settled for a lump sum of money. So, two accusations, the rest of it media hype because he calls his house
"Neverland". Who cares what he calls his house? I called my first apartment "Vertigo".

well i also remember something about him holding a child over the edge of a balcony, not 100% sure though.
Ill be honest, i dont like him, and a lot of that comes from what he did to his appearance.

Last year, he held his son over the railing of a balcony in France. Which is not sexual abuse. Nor was it an accusation, nor did anything come of it, IIRC.
So what you're telling me is that you've decided he's guilty based on his appearance?

well, I never said he was guilty, but even in the case that he is innocent. Maybe he is innocent in this case, but some things are just really disturbing. This is his second accusation then, which is still a large number. I know him being famous adds a lot to what ever it is happened, but I do find it hard to believe that he was COMPLETELY innocent in both accounts. I want to know what really happened.
I have read some things about him written by one of his ex-wifes, and I think he just has some real issues.
The name of his ranch wouldnt mean anything if not for the accusations, neverland, from peter pan, was a place for children. I find that very interesting.
I never said he was guilty, and i am sure he isnt 100% guilty, but he isnt completly innocent in my opinion. Dont mean to come off the wrong way or piss anyone off, and I guess I am biased because I dont like what he did to himself, not his appearance (thats a different story), but what he did to himself. changed the color of his skin, not sure what he did to that thing thats supposed to be a nose.

I'm with Felix on this one. Really irresponsible of the media to publish the identity of the 12-year-old. Yes, he could be innocent. He may even be the victim of a plot to extort whatever money he has left (not putting it out there as a defense for him, just exists within the realm of possibility). The more that I hear about it, the worse it looks for MJ and the more disgusted I become. A writer in the Toronto Star said it best. <not an exact quote of Ben Rayner> "Over the past decade, Michael Jackson is more known for his eccentricities than his music career. If he is found guilty, he will lose the only thing that any of us have left for him: our sympathy."
