Hey folks. I was thinking about my Dad the other day (deceased June 22nd, 1993) and thinking how great a father he was. Patient, kind, gentle, always teaching and always having my best interest in mind even when I didn't. I miss him very much. I love my Mom and she continues to give me great advice and sharp insights.
Who is/was/continues to be the major positive influence in your life?

My mom without a t doubt. She raised me and my sister as a single mom and worked her ass off to make ends meet. I have nothing but love and respect for that woman.

That's a hard question.....Hmmmmmmm.......There is a guy I used to work for during the holidays while I was at Uni - he kinda took me under his wing and taught me a lot - both about the job (horticulture) and about life. He was one of good guys.
My dad I suppose - we've never been that close but he has always been there when I've needed him.
I would also say my old Sensei from my Karate club - he taught me things I didn't dream possible.
Cheers

My Dad. (deceased April 26, 1996). He taught me about life, how to be self sufficient, and that i could do absolutely anything if I put my mind to it. He was the reason I did good in school, and learned all the things I have since then. My favorite times were when I helped build a house, rebuild an engine, or go hunting or Fishing. I miss my dad.

I'd have to say my grandparents. Without the sacrafices they made a long time ago in accepting to take legal guardianship of me I wouldn't be where I am right now. Thanks Nan and Grandpy.

I've had many people that have shaped my life, but the one that stands out most was a high school shop teacher. He was teaching machine shop, He taught me that if somebody made something you could fix it or make it better than it originally was.
I was a young pup in his class and using a Metal lathe and the project broke and broke the tool post holder. I sheepishly took it to him and he gave me a 2"X 2" by 6" piece of tool steel and told me to use the next lathe to make the part. Later on he was assigned to Auto shop, which he didn't have training in, I took his first class, we were delivered a brand new Sun 1020 test stand unit with CRT. He and I put it together and learned how to work it after school.
I was lucky, I don't think schooling is as good now-days, it's just a job for most, I had a lot of teachers that were dedicated to making the world better by getting their students to think on their own.

Your drill sargent was one hell of a man and citizen pappy. You and all others that he trained in 'life" were extremely lucky to have had him as an instructor, mentor and great role model. Thank very much for sharing. It is most appreciated.

Hell no! Every family has it's oddball. Some are just more obvious than others. It's the quiet geeks you have to watch out for: ticking bombs. lol. Kidding.

My parents, close friends, and the artists of the music that I listen to. More so Tom Cochrane, Neil Young and those ones.
