What one event had a life altering positive effect on your life?? When, where and how did it occur?? How did this event affect your family? How long ago was this event? Does it continue to have an impact to this day?

My divorce from my ex. IF that wouldn't have happened, I wouldn't have met my wife, and surely wouldn't have been as happy and content as I am now. That was 11 years ago.

The birth of my kids would have to be it. Nothing has been the same since then.

My one year vacation in Sunny Vietnam, It set me on a path that continues today. I saw the experience make of break a lot of people. I taught me to function and do a job without support or supply. Learning to think on you feet and on a run is a good life lesson. It taught me the value of a few good friends and we all have to look out for each other. 1965 to 1967, set the boy into a man, I draw on the lessons learned to supply guidance in my life. I never had a college education and didn't want one, I learned every thing I know by doing it.
I have a logical mind set, and a education in hard knocks. I guess thats what drew my to computers. I've had 2 long lasting jobs that I learned by jumping in and doing them. I'm always searching for how the new tech that comes along works. I am more at home with tech & parts manuals, than I am with normal books.
I am sure that I wouldn't be the person I am to day without the Military time.
The old saying,"Those thing that don't kill you make you stronger" has proved true to me.

It would have to be the day I got clean. I sincerely believe that I would be dead or in prison today if I had not got that monkey off my back. Life has not always been easy since then. It sure has been good though.

Such overexuberant emotion is unseemly. Try to contain yourself, man.
