I'm having the same problem...I can't figure it out at all, about to reboot with the WMI things disabled..if that doesn't work I dunno what the hell to do other than reinstall.
Update: Nothin...my connections are still gone. I noticed this this afternoon while I was still down at the University...maybe it's one of the current windows updates thats messing something up.

it's not called wmi.. it's "windows managment instermenttion" is the service name

Ya, I try to start that and it tells me it (the service) failed to start or one of it's dependencies failed to start. So Im thinking it wasn't that because it's disabled and I still can't see my connections. The last thing I rembember doing that might have changed something was running Windows Update before I left YSU...maybe a new update broke it?

Heh, wish I could. However I disable system restore the minute I do a fresh install or reinstall of my machines. I only leave it on my grandparents machine in case anything gets messed up and I have no way of fixing it because im down at school.
So no restore points for me :P

No such luck...I think the last update(s) I installed have something to do with this because I didn't notice this unitl I was back home after I had installed updates before I left college...
