About the only thing that could replace hog jowls would be ham hocks... it's gotta be from the pig... otherwise, the flavor's all wrong. Am I right Pap?

Chicken covered in cream of chicken sauce with dried crushed hot peppers and garlic, green beans, pineapple chunks and fried potatoes and onions. Mmm, yummy <-- gave the dog the most of mine.

Not being entirely sure what 'hog jowls' are myself, I'd be happy substituting ham hocks in mine.

Tonight, I actually cooked. Ham baked in milk and butter <just a slice of ham, not a whole one>, mixed broccoli and cauliflower, and garlic mashed potatoes.

We're eating "kid food" for the next three days <I'm babysitting the 21-month-old boy and the 4-year-old girl starting tomorrow at noon>, so I thought I'd do something to see us through.

Tripe, perhaps?

Tonight was ham and pierogies. First time cooking in a couple weeks, was a little rusty.

Teriyaki chicken <in a marinade of my own creation...teriyaki sauce, worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and dry mustard>, scalloped potatoes with spinach and cheddar cheese sauce, and canned peaches. I hate canned peaches, the kids love them. They won.
