help.gif I have several vhs tapes of my family growing up and I would like to transfer most of them to DVD. Of course, I would like to take out the camera shake etc. and keep just the good stuff. Does anyone out there have any good software suggestions. I have just purchased a very nice computer with all the bells and whistles to make this as easy as possible and with a 200 gig hard drive. I am just not too impressed with the software that came with it. I have ez cd and dvd creator loaded but I really do not like it that much either. I would greatly appreciate anyones input. Thanks in advance.

Try Adobe Premier 6.0 or Windows Movie Maker found in WinXP.... I'm using Adobe.

I capture as S-video with ATI-AIW Video card then Edit with MyFlix Xe. I then burn to CD-R or DVD. I use 99 minute CD-r media and play them in my home dvd player.

99 Minute CD-R Media??

Where in the hell you get that from?

I like Pinnacle Studio 7 (Tried 8 .. had more bells and whistles but it crashes a lot).

Also about to try out Adobe Encore. Will let you all know how it looks. It more tailored to DVD creation though from what I've read.

I was getting them from Blank Cd-r in California, but it seems for some reason the supply has dried up. They are on E Bay at a crazy price 10 for $20, I was getting them for $.35. I just ordered 200 90 minute cd-R from them last week $70 delivered.

They are non-standard, your burner has to be able to burn them, some can some can't. Mine does 93 minute fine at 24X. My home DVD Player can play them just fine. I use Nero to burn. Do a search on Goggle for 99 minute CD-R, all will be revealed.
