After church , went to Lai's to eat Chinese. Then popped over to the office to do a quick micro-dermabrasion on both my wife and daughter. Then home to meet a man who is getting me a quote on redoing my patio correctly and fix the drainage problem. The went to Lowe's and Verizon. Got some mulch and top soil and landscaping fabric. Antennae for my wifes cell phone ( how did she lose that) . Home and worked in the yard three hours raking , putting top soil and mulch down , only to watch a few minutes later my big ol puppy tear it up. Grrrrr. Now time for relaxation.

Drove up north about 35 miles to attend an AFL-CIO rally featuring the
"Show Us the Jobs" bus tour, followed by a pancake breakfast. Then drove back past the house and about 55 miles east to my sister's for my nephew's 2nd birthday party. Then drove back home to the doctor about 2 miles from home (finally broke down and went, I've had laryngitis for over a week now), where I found out I've got an upper respiratory infection and I just have to be patient and eventually I'll get my voice back. Then drove back across town 5 miles to the only pharmacy that's open 24/7 to fill my prescriptions.
Got home and entered everything into Quicken only to realize that my little adventure in medicine has reduced my bank balance to almost nil again because I don't have insurance at the moment. *sigh*

having finally come to the conclusion that my wire-feed welder was holding me back, and verified it after using a friend's rig, I bought a Miller 2500HD last night at Home Depot. FCAW, GMAW, awyeah....

<I'm unstoppable now, once I hear back on this plasma cutter>. Will finish my front bumper this weekend, and probably get started on the rear.
Stopped in at the scrap yard and picked up a replacement passenger's side exhaust manifold for my Blazer. The tapping sound of the leak is driving me nuckin' futz.
Got a call last night just as I got home from a jeeper buddy. His next door neighbor has gotten SEVERELY stuck and came to ask him if he'd help. He wasn't able to pull him out, so called me. Surprisingly, the wife wanted to go along, so I took her and the kid along. Hooked up, and was dragging myself to him <4WD Ranger, with inop front axle and the skid plate and drop bracket for the independent front suspension plowing thick goopy mud in front of him. EASILY a 6000 pound pull. Backed up to an oak tree and put my treesaver around it and into the receiver hitch pin. In 4lo, I dug in by driving away from the tree till all 4 tires spun, and hooked back up. It was a slow pull, but I got him out.
Sorry SOB didn't so much as shake my hand, much less volunteer a couple bucks tip for my services, as is standard in the 4X4 community. I wasn't after money- but it's pretty telling that he didn't even say thanks or shake my hand. Maybe I'm just a redneck. <not possible-- have all my teeth, no trailer, and all my cars run>
Next time, I don't help- I just drive by and wave.
