?!?! How does THAT work?!?!
It's just the console shifter. You hook the cable up to the shifter on the tranny, then the other end to the shifter in the console. When you move the shift lever, the tranny magically 'shifts' into whatever gear you select.
Some of them even have indicators that show what gear you're in. And the really good ones even light up at night.

LOL. Nah, this one's gray, an automatic cable shifter, and center console all in one. It's also plastic, so I can trim and make it fit however I need to. If I can get it to clear the T-case shifter, we're in business.
Plus, it was free, so it's worth a shot, in my book. Otherwise, write off another $2-hunny to a B&M Mega-Shifter.

Got up, left for work ridiculously early so as to not get stuck in the construction...and sailed right through it without even having to take off the cruise control.

Stopped for lunch since I was about to be an hour early for work.
Did one show, found out they weren't going to feed us even though we only got a 25 minute break, ordered cheap Chinese food for delivery.
Did the second show, got tipped remarkably well considering I was dressing children, did the loadout. Stopped for a drink with the wardrobe crew, then drove home.
Took out the trash, called Comcast to let them know the connection was down again (happens about every third day latenights) and to let them know that their anti-customer-service is not acceptable.
Now surfing again, at least until my connection goes out again. Should happen twice more before I give up in frustration and go read a book instead.

oh you are SOOO right, there.....
If all goes well with the bid I put in on that house, I'll be moving around the first of June. First goal: kick Comcast's arse to the curb and go with Knology <I'll get broadband, phone, and CATV for LESS than I'm paying for CATV and BB right now>
The comcast tech support couldn't be more obviously reading a script- they tried to ping my box last time, immediately after I told them I had it behind a hardware firewall and was not replying to ICMP packets.
"Whut's an ICMP packet?"
Then they told me I needed to reboot my machine to reset the cable modem <ok, so we all know it is an ethernet bridge, but I'll play their little name game>
- uh, hello-- it's not ATTACHED to the friggin' computer!!!
this is only one of many hundreds of examples. I could go for days. I've taken to just immediately asking for their next tier of help- and when they say they have to help me before sending me up, I let out a heavy sigh and run them through their entire script as if talking to a slow 3 year old, and explain that I do this stuff for a living.
They usually tell me to hoold for a second and transfer me up. One gent got a bit uppity-- "Sir, I have numerous certifications- MCSE, CCNA, A+...."
- to which I replied "and this is all you can do?"
<I'm not normally so abrupt, but they really are asking for it when things get to the point they have with their "technicians".....>

Congratulations!!! Now you'll have room for all your stuff!

I've just run into the creditor thing myself...applied for a loan a couple of weeks ago, and was turned down because my bankruptcy from 1998, which was paid off in full in 2001 has apparently never been posted as "cleared" on my credit rating. According to the bank, I am still paying it off. I, however, didn't manage to keep the freaken statement from the court, so I've had to pay my lawyer $50 for a new one so I can send copies to the nitwits.

Today:
I slept in. Made some lunch. Finished my book. Played on the computer. Arranged my schedule for the week.
Soon I may get dressed...I do have to walk out to the road to get the mail after all.
I love weekends.

-responding to my bellowed "Wil- get ready!" my boy jumps out from behind the counter to the right of the back door I'd only just stuck my head in, shouting "DADDY!!! I'm a SCAWWY GWEEN MONSTER!!!"

"well--- I guess I'll always have an easy way to differentiate you if you get lost... "Pardon me- have you seen a little green boy?""
"ok, Little Green Boy-- hold the bolts for daddy while he measures"
"Little Green Boy-- watch out for the nice lady.. say excuse me"
"<whispered> little Green Boy, quit talking about that lady's boobies"
<what can I say-- he's my son... and VERY much so... I once nearly got my dad ni trouble with a biker. We're all siting at a light, there's a biker next to us with his "old lady" on the back... and I look over at her, point, and YELL "But Daddy- she ain't got no BOOBS!!"

=been a bit spacey lately, what with all the things going on, so pardon if this is a reprint:
-my offer on the house was accepted. Now to go through all the rigamarole of getting a loan for it. This seems absolutely bass-ackwards: I offer someone 6 figures for a house, which I do not have in my bank account. Then after they say, sure-- I have to flit about, looking for someone to right me a check for said amount.
Insane.
-found out that, worse come to it, I can get a loan although at a higher rate that I'd prefer to pay. However- my payment still comes out to only about $80/mo more than my current rent. This year. Which means it'll probably be cheaper than my rent, next year....

Well, did you figure out what Blue was looking for?

Of course I did! After soccer practice, they were going to go to an ice cream truck and get ice cream cones!

The middle part of my day:
Went out for lunch with my dad and stepmom, then sat in the driveway in their car and opened my birthday presents, then stayed in the car chatting for a while. They're not allowed in the house since it's mom's.

Then, upon walking into the house, I realized that the $200 car payment I made yesterday was actual ~$25 more than I owe on the car, so I'm completely paid off AND I'm getting a refund check!
Does this mean I'm a grownup, now that I've bought my first car on credit and paid it off?
Now I'm getting my stuff together so I can go into the union label office to fix the website, then get the checkbook balanced and the bills paid and my reports printed before the meeting tonight.
