Just helped a friend install his new MSI nForce2 mobo, Athlon XP2600+, 512 DDR and his other goodies into a new case. Opening boxes to finished product in only 2.5 hours after an awesome spaghetti dinner.
Before that - washed the truck and diagnosed the boss's son's new truck with either a bad coil-pack, fuel pump, or MAF sensor. It runs up to 2300 rpm and 'stutters' after that. Beats me - 2001 Ford Ranger w/3.0 V6. You might wanna talk to Guy, Ron. You'd know more about it than I would.

found out closing is not 15 June, but 28 May.
Found out I will be leaving for Ft Sill for 3 weeks on 1 June
freaked right the hell out wondering how I'm going to get totally moved in 3 days, and prepped for a 3 week deployment. <for about 30 minutes>
decided the best thing to do is pack for the trip on the 25th-ish, put the ruck where I can find it for the trip easily, and go ahead and start packing. Went all over town asking for boxes from different businesses, bought lots of packing tape and supplies at Harbor Freight, and priced furniture dollies and a large hand truck at Harbor Freight. Dropped by the Uhaul store and ordered a Class 3 receiver for the wife's Grand Cherokee and got the drawbar measurment for the trailer I'll use, then bought an electric brake controller for the wife's ZJ and my Blazer. Plan is to rent two 6X12 trailers and pack them both as tight as possible and shuttle to the new house, then repeat as necessary. Amazingly enough, this actually comes out cheaper than renting the one trailer for 2-3 days. <helps to have friends at Uhaul>.
I am gonna be busier than the proverbial one-legged man at an asskicking contest come move day.

Woke up this morning feeling gross, came to work, been at it like I used to, got a phone call from someone wanting to talk to me about my (very outdated) resume.
Kinda curious to what company (couldn't really hear him) and to how old the resume is (I've only applied to about 2 places the last few years) and why anyone would follow up on a horribly old resume. All the tech knowledge I acquired years ago has already gone out the window!!

Discovered that mom went overboard on grocery shopping last night, so I have everything I could ever hope to want for ingredients for cooking finally. Could be more excited!

Found out my last three pillow kits shipped Monday, so I should have them to work on by the end of the week, which puts me about 2 weeks from having a major portion of my nieces' and nephews' Christmas presents done. In MAY!

Just found out I have to stop by the office on my way out of town this afternoon, so I suppose I should consider getting dressed.

This morning I will go to the office. At lunch I will assist in a cardiac PET scan. Then I will come home and clean the pool for an hour. After that I must get on the tractor and mow for two hours. A little weedeating will probably be required. A stupid CPC meeting at 6 p.m. Then I will take one of my recent computer builds and use it at the office instead of my terminal ( which died). I will add a few extras ( DVD and maybe a TV tuner card ) . I am still looking at which 17" LCD monitor to get to go with it. Any suggestions? Needs to be around $400 or so.

Ayuh...$2.06 was the cheapest I could find in the ~60 miles I was on the road.

Woke up hearing kids talking under my window, so got up to see WTF. Turns out my brother-in-law was mowing the lawn as a mother's day present, and the kids were here. So I played with my niece and nephew (6 and 4) for a while.
Got online, and discovered that some people simply can't figure out that no one is out to get them, when they do stupid things they get helped out. Much like every other site on the internet which is run by moderators.

Oh well...whaddya do with persecution complexes, anyway?

Now going to make some lunch (something involving fresh asparagus, it's finally out) and hide from the freshly-cut grass flying around outside because I can't breathe.

met my realtor at my soon-to-be-house for the home inspection at 9 am, having confirmed with the home inspector TWICE in the last 4 days that he'd be there at 9am.
at 9:30, called him. "We're here-- where are you?". Turns out a confirmation from him is not worth a thing-- he's still dumb enough to misschedule- even though he's only a one-man operation. Pfeh. He said he can make it at 2. Rescheduled.
He is friggin' lucky that noone else in town is available at short notice!!
Needless to say, his normal $225 fee will only be $200. He just doesn't know it yet. $25 charge for screwing up my last day of vacation. I bought a new tropical shirt and wore it, sandals, and my shorts- all ready to go to the beach about 11. Now my day is shot right in the netherregions.
