Ouch.
Worked and found out today I will be the "float" this year at work, plus responsible for all the premier houses/condos, watering, all the flowers (with help but with me in charge) the "detail" guy, the problem solver, PR guy, the fire control officer (the bitch bitch, lol.) and shrubs, trees also. Bloody hell, I'm going to be run ragged. Getting pooped just thinking about it.

Left for my meeting in a severe thunderstorm (seriously severe...flooding over 5 feet on the roads in some places [although only 3 feet where I was trying to drive], mudslides [in MICHIGAN, for pity's sake!], and more thunder and lightning than I've seen at one time since...yesterday icon_lol.gif ). As I was nearing my 3rd detour due to flooding, my phone rang, and I found out the contract negotiation was cancelled because of flooding in both buildings (arena and new convention center).

Went to the office instead, then out for lunch, where we had a contract brainstorming session (we have two in open negoatiation right now, one expired April 30, the other expires June 30).

Came home just as the rain began again. Now hiding inside, being VERY glad I live on the top of a hill.

Also discovered on my way home that when there's so much water the manhole covers blow off, they become TWO obstacles to dodge...one being the hole that is no longer covered, the other being the cover itself lying somewhere near the hole.
Jason
We haven't had a decent thunder storm here for ages icon_frown.gif
madbrit
No that true Jason but then I wouldnt want one round here as it tend to flood everytime when there is heavy downpour!

It's stopped raining for now...it's just very yellow outdoors. They're pretty sure what passed through just south of us wasn't a tornado...at this point, anyway.

Had dinner (grilled pork chops near the rain, bunch of the salads I made the other day on the side), watched the news, now surfing for a bit.

Worked, came home, spoke with some nice folks, part 1 of supper, showered, soaked in tub, slept, woke up, part 2 of supper, going to go out for a while. It's rained. icon_wink.gif

Got well and truly pi$$ed at my bar. Wasn't my fault...my 20-year-old bartender had this thing where he'd found a Sharpie and wanted to autograph women's breasts...in exchange for which he would buy them drinks all night, as long as they could stand it.

Who was I to resist?

*Note to self...take shower before putting on standard "home for the day" tank top...mom simply wouldn't get it.

Better have a nap first after expending yourself like that. LOL.

Vacuumed, cleaned up living room, kitchen, (still have to do dishes), cleaned up bedroom, have to do laundry, shoot out to the store to bike comp mic as headphones are not cutting it. Good but too sweaty in spring, summer, fall. Hit Value Village for jeans for work, shave shower, the usual ablutions and then home to chat with wonderful folks, one in particular. icon_smile.gif

Snuck out between thunderstorms to quick put up two more screens and pick up some branches that got blown down during the storms this week. Barely made it back inside before the sky opened up again.

This is getting very, very tiring. *sigh*

Spent the morning/afternoon tearing down a... what else... Jeep Axle. icon_wink.gif

Long story short - A friend I met on Jeeps Unlimited.com is coming all the way from Pearl Harbor (via San Antonio to pick up his Jeep) so we can fit this refurbished axle into his Jeep next weekend. And then he's going to drive it to Dallas and have it shipped over to Hawaii so he can have his Jeep back.

Next up - Nextel All-Star Challenge on FX at 7:30PM EDT and a beer.

Woke up, did grocery shopping, came home and was watching a decent Monaco GP before an asshole ruined it with the safety car out (hey loser - it means NO PASSING), and am about to do the lawn trimming.
Felix4067
Woke up, cleaned up some miscellaneous crap around the house, did a sinkful of dishes, put up two more screens. And, finished the main part of the last pillow, so now all I have to do is finish the edges, back them and stuff them, and they're DONE! icon_biggrin.gif

Now wanting to make dinner, but mom's not hungry yet. So it's either have a couple of pot pies and deal with her passive-agressive BS all night because I didn't cook her dinner, or wait until I'm starving before I cook so she can eat, too. icon_rolleyes.gif

Replaced ignitor on BBQ along with all the wooden pieces. Not bad, total replacement cost lest than $125...

Friday: birthday luncheon with the folks at work. Ended up actually working about 3 hours, then a 3 hour lunch before heading home to jump in the shower and clean up for a initial appointment withthe chiro. Had xrays and consultation interview, and scheduled another one for Monday.

Saturday: spent half the day tracing out a no-start condition on my XJ. Replaced the ignition switch, no dice. Replaced the starter relay, no dice. Took the starter <3 whole weeks old!> to Advance, it passed the bench test. They gave me a new one anyway- starts right up.

GRRR!! Did I mention I hate mud!?

Today: have had a monstrous headache most of the day. Slept most of the day for this reason. Finally, after 3 advil, feeling better. Probably be up all night and feel like crap tomorrow....

-have not been to bed.. well, I was IN bed-- but couldn't sleep so got up.....

-started talking to a friend/coworker's wife and turned out she was up for the duration as well. At her suggestion went to Denny's for coffee and breakfast. Discussion ended up turning to religion, as I'd mentioned in passing my plans for an altar in the study of the new place. Told her, quite honestly, of my belief structure and upbringing <which was strict Christian, to say the least!> and found out that she and her husband are Baha'i. Fascinating conversation.

-preparing to get to work early so I can leave early for the chiro and hopefully an adjustment. Never been for one before, having gone to the chiro the first time Friday and only getting xrayed. :yikes:

Time your breathing for when he pushes down. You won't get it at first, but if you breathe in just before he does and let the air go out with the push, it'll go better. Good luck! I've been going to mine for several years now. In fact, you reminded me with all this that I haven't been to see him since March, and things are getting a little wonky, so I have an appointment this afternoon. icon_smile.gif

As for me...so far today I couldn't sleep in bed for some reason, so at 5am I gave up and went out to lie down on the couch. And now I've just woken up.
amandabobanda
Woke up thinking it wasn't even 8 am yet, but it was almost 10....Made sure the battery in my alarm was in right...

The day's just begun, so I'm going to eat a banana, go for a run, come home, and get myself beach ready!! And at some point, attempt to make an appointment for a facial tomorrow.
