Guess I might be wrong about the exit.
Anyhow, off to the bank to iron out some mortgage details!
buying your first one?
I just recently bought my first house. What an adventure!
-opened up a checking account today, first one I've had in my own name in about 7 years. Upon doing so, was also offered a credit card- not a debit card linked to the checking account but an actual credit card.
"Thanks, but no thanks".
But it's good to see- what with having obtained a mortgage with darn near NO jumping through hoops and now this <our bank is notoriously tight with priveleges such as checking accounts, ATM cards, and the like> it is comforting to know that I've proceede a long way away from the situation I got myself in when I was young and dumb and... well...

....
Now if I can just keep myself away from the Jeep dealership. I drove a friend's Jeep TJ Rubicon with about 3" lift this weekend after welding skids to his axles. NICE rig. I'd love to have one. Just have to keep reminding myself that the $25,000 they want for one will go VERY far towards bulletproofing my drivetrain <Dana 44 axles>, quieting the interior <MASSIVE coats of rubber roll roofing, Durabak, and a marine-grade carpet kit>, and the like- with about 20G left over. Plus, I don't have to pay someone to drive it every month.
as far as the ability to go topless with the vehicle-- I have a sawzall, a welder, and now have the room to install and use a manual tube bender- I'm a couple weekends away from a topless XJ with a canvas softtop if that should ever start looking like a necessity...
