Went to work. Miscellaneous pushing of boxes until well after lunch, when I fell in on band gear and ended up helping set up guitar world.

Home now for a nap before I head back down (I took the early cut, my foot is killing me).

Edit:
Sometimes my fingers type without consulting my brain. icon_rolleyes.gif

Felix4067
Took the world's longest nap and darn near didn't make it back for the show. icon_eek.gif

Watched most of the show, then made my way back to the loading dock for the loadout...got done in 2 hours 20 minutes. Not a record, but pretty darn good. icon_smile.gif Got to the bar at 1:35 and still managed to suck down 5 beers. Not my fault, I only wanted three, but this doofus next to me was buying. icon_wink.gif

Now trying to get my ears to stop ringing (I had earplugs, but it was pretty freaken loud anyway) and winding down before sleep.
Goofproof
Going to a picnic, Making Goofproof Beanie Weenies.

EDIT: Just in case someone it watching their weight, added 1/3 LB of margarine, had a dash of Cayenne pepper. Just Right, cooked slow and stirred, burns easy!

Updated my 4x4 club's website. They're kinda pissing me off - no new information in 3 months. I told them I couldn't do the newsletter any more and nothing. If someone's been doing it, then I've been cut out of the loop. Oh well.

Anyway - it's updated, looks better, and I've even added some links and started a forum at Texas Off-Road Network.

Hung the new kitchen cupboard doors and went to the cinema with the Missus.

Got up, took some aspirin and drank about a gallon of water. Made mental note to avoid the creepy old guy who sits at the bar buying drinks for women. icon_confused.gif

After that, I've been a slug. Watched a bunch of TV (cannot believe how often that's happening lately) and made an early dinner. Now considering a nap.

Just got back from whipping out a 52 minute hard cycle. I love "chasing down" those ahead of me that are cycling or roller blading and safely blowing by them like they are standing still. Makes for a damn good workout and a lot of "WTF" exclamations. cocky.gif Especially if they are younger and try to pursue me; then I'll slowly speed up while staying on the saddle, wait 'til they are almost caught up and then get up on the pedals and really kick it. Not too many can handle that physically or psychologically. Hee hee hee.
I know, I know, it's childish but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Heck yeah it is. I was pretty much known for that sort of stuff back when I used to do a lot of cycling.

The guy I rode with the most was racing another rider at one point- both of them being on high-zoot Cannondales, and me being at the back of the paceline. They blew by me, and of course once the gauntlet is thrown <and it's ALWAYS thrown if you passed me, no matter you were trying or not> it has to be answered. So I got out from the paceline and out of the saddle and just started cranking for all I was worth...

ended up blowing past them like some sorta ballistic missile. icon_cool.gif ... and yeah, the WTF exclamations are worth it.

Never was much of a long distance rider-- about 25 or so, and I was done. But I seemed to be a pretty good sprinter. There were lots of dogs in the area-- let's just say it paid to not be the last one in the group..

Finally got to sleep around 6:30am, woke up at 10:30. Spent most of the day in a fog...too much sleep at stupid times does that to me. Gloried in the fact that it's HOT and SUNNY again (right now it's 90F with 65% humidity).

Discovered the movie theatre 1/2 mile from my house is no longer showing The Day After Tomorrow, but the one clear out by the airport (a 30-minute drive) is. But they're not showing it during matinees, only at night. So I'm driving way out there tonight, I guess, since I haven't managed to see it yet.

The day after tommorow is a good switch off your brain and watch type of film, the effects in it are great just don't expect too much story wise.

Fitted the drawer fronts in the kitchen and aligned all the new doors and fronts. Watched the GP, did the ironing at the same time: the ironing was more exciting.

Perfect! I wasn't going for plot, anyway. How much plot can there be in a movie about the end of the world? icon_lol.gif People tend to expect too much from movies...I like to let them entertain me, nothing more, nothing less. icon_smile.gif

Just got done watching a most excellent PBS documentary on Lucille Ball. "I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats." icon_biggrin.gif

Got to my new place and unloaded 2 cars. Sat down on the floor, turned on my laptop, 5 minutes later, wireless internet access. Note: my cable won't be turned on until tomorrow. I love wireless!! icon_biggrin.gif

Okay, so maybe I over did it. LOL. Just got back from mowing Mom's lawn which is me almost running behind the mower for 45 minutes or so, and then went back to Assiniboine Park and strapped on the roller blades. That lasted all of about 15 minutes before I realized that there was: no gas in the tank (mine), I was going to suffer a lot tomorrow if I persisted in this foolishness and lastly, my ankle (the sprained one) was sending my brain cease and desist forthwith signals and that I had better pay attention. So, for a change, I did.

Yeah, I can't resist a challenge when someone "blows" by me either. Jackass or competitive spirit, take your pick. I'm old, out of shape and overweight plus my bike is as 1982 Norco that weights a ton however, once the flag drops, I'm off like a scalded cat. cocky.gif I just can't help it. fragend013.gif wallbash.gif tongue_smilie.gif

rediscovered the magic that is Tiger Balm. MAN that's good stuff! NEck got so bad yesterday at work that I went to the drugstore and happened to run across it. GREAT stuff <you might want to try it, old fart!> : duck hide :

trying to listen to music at present--- but my son is REALLY upset about it. Tried RHCP-- raised hell. Tried Jimmy Buffett-- he liked that and not a peep. Tried The Sundays- at VERY low volume <and iit's very mellow, almost ambient music to begin with> and he's been in and out of her 5 times in 3 minutes telling me "I don't LIKE music!"

Pfft. He'd better learn to grow out of that in this house...

<funny thing is-- in the car, there's no problem at all. Wife and I were jamming to all sorts of stuff yesterday while out and about without a peep out of him. Wierd kid. Must be mine, huh?>

Took myself to the movies, then stopped by the bar to say hello to the Sunday-Monday bartender, who I've not seen in weeks. Drank sodas all night, which is not only cheaper but a lot more fun, since I got to watch the drunk people shoot pool without being one of them. icon_lol.gif

Came home, took out the trash, now winding down toward bed.

<croon> I'm LEEAAA-vin', on a jet plane...</croon>

packed for a week and a half in the desert this morning, and will be leaving for my flight in about 45 minutes.

Plan on getting well and thoroughly drunk on the flight out there. Not to a state of sloppiness, but to the point where my nerves are settled.

See, I REALLY dislike civilian airlines. Give me a C130, C17, or the like, ANY day. Creature comforts be damned-- I have more faith in their maintenance facilities. Besides-- when was the last time you saw a parachute on a civvy flight?

Did I mention I HATE flying? yucky.gif thumbdown.gif

Sent a package out.
Exchanged the too-small heel pad thingies for larger ones that hopefully won't twist under my feet.
Bought another new pair of insoles (different kind this time, brand-new, on a trial basis).
Decided I truly love a shoe store that will take a return on something I wear inside my work boots after I've worn it all day and get me something else that'll make me happy instead, or a refund if there isn't something.

Made dinner (chicken, noodles and sauce, butter beans with bacon).
Dealt with Comcast customer "service".
Considering drinking heavily even though I have to work in the morning.

Resurrected a co-worker's laptop... too bad they'll be wanting it back now that it works again.

Installed Mozilla Firefox 0.9. Runs like champ so far, except that the last post in Doc's Corner about Chiropractic is messed up somehow - looks fine in IE though. Weird... and the only problem so far.
