Took the world's longest nap and darn near didn't make it back for the show.
Watched most of the show, then made my way back to the loading dock for the loadout...got done in 2 hours 20 minutes. Not a record, but pretty darn good.

Got to the bar at 1:35 and still managed to suck down 5 beers. Not my fault, I only wanted three, but this doofus next to me was buying.

Now trying to get my ears to stop ringing (I had earplugs, but it was pretty freaken loud anyway) and winding down before sleep.

Just got back from whipping out a 52 minute hard cycle. I love "chasing down" those ahead of me that are cycling or roller blading and safely blowing by them like they are standing still. Makes for a damn good workout and a lot of "WTF" exclamations.

Especially if they are younger and try to pursue me; then I'll slowly speed up while staying on the saddle, wait 'til they are almost caught up and then get up on the pedals and really kick it. Not too many can handle that physically or psychologically. Hee hee hee.

Heck yeah it is. I was pretty much known for that sort of stuff back when I used to do a lot of cycling.
The guy I rode with the most was racing another rider at one point- both of them being on high-zoot Cannondales, and me being at the back of the paceline. They blew by me, and of course once the gauntlet is thrown <and it's ALWAYS thrown if you passed me, no matter you were trying or not> it has to be answered. So I got out from the paceline and out of the saddle and just started cranking for all I was worth...
ended up blowing past them like some sorta ballistic missile.

... and yeah, the WTF exclamations are worth it.
Never was much of a long distance rider-- about 25 or so, and I was done. But I seemed to be a pretty good sprinter. There were lots of dogs in the area-- let's just say it paid to not be the last one in the group..

Finally got to sleep around 6:30am, woke up at 10:30. Spent most of the day in a fog...too much sleep at stupid times does that to me. Gloried in the fact that it's HOT and SUNNY again (right now it's 90F with 65% humidity).
Discovered the movie theatre 1/2 mile from my house is no longer showing The Day After Tomorrow, but the one clear out by the airport (a 30-minute drive) is. But they're not showing it during matinees, only at night. So I'm driving way out there tonight, I guess, since I haven't managed to see it yet.

Perfect! I wasn't going for plot, anyway. How much plot can there be in a movie about the end of the world?

People tend to expect too much from movies...I like to let them entertain me, nothing more, nothing less.

Just got done watching a most excellent PBS documentary on Lucille Ball. "I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats."

Okay, so maybe I over did it. LOL. Just got back from mowing Mom's lawn which is me almost running behind the mower for 45 minutes or so, and then went back to Assiniboine Park and strapped on the roller blades. That lasted all of about 15 minutes before I realized that there was: no gas in the tank (mine), I was going to suffer a lot tomorrow if I persisted in this foolishness and lastly, my ankle (the sprained one) was sending my brain cease and desist forthwith signals and that I had better pay attention. So, for a change, I did.
Yeah, I can't resist a challenge when someone "blows" by me either. Jackass or competitive spirit, take your pick. I'm old, out of shape and overweight plus my bike is as 1982 Norco that weights a ton however, once the flag drops, I'm off like a scalded cat.

I just can't help it.

rediscovered the magic that is Tiger Balm. MAN that's good stuff! NEck got so bad yesterday at work that I went to the drugstore and happened to run across it. GREAT stuff <you might want to try it, old fart!> : duck hide :
trying to listen to music at present--- but my son is REALLY upset about it. Tried RHCP-- raised hell. Tried Jimmy Buffett-- he liked that and not a peep. Tried The Sundays- at VERY low volume <and iit's very mellow, almost ambient music to begin with> and he's been in and out of her 5 times in 3 minutes telling me "I don't LIKE music!"
Pfft. He'd better learn to grow out of that in this house...
<funny thing is-- in the car, there's no problem at all. Wife and I were jamming to all sorts of stuff yesterday while out and about without a peep out of him. Wierd kid. Must be mine, huh?>
