Political rally, followed by setup for the convention my local is hosting, followed by playing hostess (along with several other people) in the hospitality suite at the hotel.
Dead on my feet, have to do it again tomorrow after I vote in the morning (state primary, along with several major millage issues).

traveled to San Antonio TX on the most crowded flights EVER, checked in the hotel and found out they have a reception every night from 5-7pm with 3 free drinks.
Since I'm going to be going to work at 4pm, availed myself immediately of the only drinks I'll be able to have.
Was completely freaked out when they poured the vodka out of a sodafountain type of contraption. Gotta love heavy freepour....

Got up and voted, then headed down to the convention, where I spent all day collecting money for the PAC breakfast and Great Lakes fishing trip which both take place tomorrow. Followed by a LOT of free alcohol, and some pretty heavy-duty networking and conversation.

Tore into the electrical problem in the Grand Prix... only to discover that I'm going to let the warranty take care of it.
Background: the HVAC and Daytime Running Lamps seem to only work sporadically... and both generally crap out at the same time. They've been working less and less as the days have gone by since her trip back from South Carolina.
I basically tore the electrical system down to its major connections/components and got no joy. Oh well - at least I know for a fact that I won't be paying the stealership $50 to change a fuse or relay. :bigwink:

Loadin, followed by some at-home time, followed by loadout of a completely forgettable rap show (Li'l Flip). Accidentally caught part of the show because I showed up for work on time and they didn't.

Considering drinking heavily.

My niece called at 1:15am, because she needed a ride to the emergency room. Apparently, she had a 3/4-inch piece of a sewing needle stuck in her big toe (it was in the carpet, she stepped on it). Drove the ~20 miles to her house, then back ~15 miles to the emergency room...where we waited for almost two hours. Talked to the people across from us, and they told us they'd been there for over five hours already.

Called the med. center, where there was no one in the waiting room, so we went there.
In the med center, took x-rays, found out it really was in there (even though we knew that). They numbed her toe (kinda) and started taking it out (had to cut, it was broken off well under the skin). Discovered it was actually stuck in the bone. She damn near squeezed my fingers off, but only two tears. I am now VERY impressed by the girl.

More x-rays to make sure the bone wasn't broken, then a HUGE antibiotic shot, a tetanus shot, some stitches, and a prescription for Keflex...finally got her settled back in her apartment around 5:45am.
Got back to my sister's house at a little after 6am and finally got some sleep. Came home to post news, dealt with Verizon wireless again, tore out most of my hair.

Saturday: Drove 3 hours north to the hotel and spent the night.
Sunday: Got up at 5:30am to drive the ~30 miles from the hotel to the venue, worked for 12 hours (including two 1/2-hour paid meal breaks) setting up for George Bush. Quick stopped by the hotel for a shower, then drove home.
Monday: Drove an hour east of here to do a loadout, then immediately from there drove back up north (which is even further from there, and all of it two-lane highway instead of divided freeway). Caught the last few minutes of Bush speaking (

) then did the loadout. Which we finished about .7 seconds before the monsoon hit. Drove the ~30 miles back to my hotel and crashed hard without even taking my shoes off.
Woke up this morning with barely enough time to shower, repack and check out. Drove to this little tiny town south and west of there that has the best jerky EVER (beef, pork, turkey, venison, buffalo, ostrich...various flavours), then cut back across the state to visit my dad and stepmom, now I'm finally HOME for the first time in what feels like weeks even though it's only been a couple of days.
I'm not driving ANYWHERE tomorrow. I don't care what happens.

Went to put the last door on the cabinet after I broke one, and they cut it 5/8" too big.

It was supposed to be 23 and 5/16" wide, but they cut it 23 15/16" in wide.

They better fix it!

Stopped off at the tire place to find out why one of mine refuses to hold air...turns out there was a piece of metal in it. Too many people take posts personally, at times myself included. I think when that happens, people need to take a deep breath and turn their PC off. It doesn't always have to be about the drama.
