no as far as who does it i was wondering if you had a kit in mind or were just going part by part? i also work on my own stuff, minus minor things. like i blew all the gears out of my rear diff, ring and pinion, spider gear, bearing, everything.. that i had an off road shop here in town do but i dont know how to reset gears so!
There is no such thing as a gasoline to diesel engine conversion kit. I am designing, engineering, imagineering, whatever you want to call it- the whole darn mess, myself.
I believe in this credo- real Jeepers (gearheads, wheelers, whatever) learn to do it themselves. I build suspensions, weld, rebuild transmissions, rebuild transfer cases, engines, you name it- myself.
Gears are easy. Just time consuming and frustrating more than anything. The principles behind them are straightforward though. Now automatic transmissions-- that's black freakin' magik if you ask me. I understand about half of the stuff in them-- and I just get a good book and do what it tells me to do.

Videos help as well. After that, all you need is a few bins, a partwashing bucket, lots of table space, and the patience of a saint. Or is it lots of Scotch?
EDIT: forgot to mention: I owe my Jeeping habit, and most of the whole of the above, to Mister4X4.
Gee, THANKS, Eric! :P
