Nothing that big.. got around to taking the top off the jeep and stuff. It was another fun fulled reserver babysitting weekend!...

Spent a bunch of time on the swing outside, finished a book, went to Waffle House (I know it's not that good, but we don't have them at home, dammit), read another book, watched a really cool thunderstorm for a while, listened to the Red Wings game online (apparently hockey is not available on cable in the South), watched a movie, messed about online.

Nice vacation day.

But thanks for reminding me, I need to call the local sports bars and see if they've got either of those so I can catch the game tomorrow night.

Today I slept in, then took myself over to Biloxi to Mary Mahoney's for lunch. Did a little wandering around, took pictures of the new bridge construction (about freaken time!), sat on the beach for a while, came home and hung out on the porch swing reading until the mosquitos started threatening to carry me away. If I get less lazy, I'm thinking I might wander over to the casinos a little later and see if I can't lose some money.

Drivin to work and saw a truck pulling a double load jack knife. That was pretty cool. Minus the whole wreck thing!

Took myself out for lunch (excellent corn and crab bisque, crawfish po'boy, endless sweet tea...PLUS, they had leftover crawfish bisque from yesterday, so since they make the best crawfish bisque I've ever eaten, I took the remaining two bowls home for later), then hung out at the beach for several hours doing nothing but being. Most excellent.

Best part...I found a sports bar just down the street that has DirecTV, so I'm by god watching the Red Wings game tonight!

messed about at school, hung out with g/f, and we went to work...I got off about 7 and she's done at 9 so...patienlty waiting I be.

The local bar doesn't get that channel. However, I drove to one of the casinos and they do (and we trounced the Ducks 5-0). Plus, on my way out I won just over $70 on a quarter slot machine.

Got my Guitar pro cd back today.

Generally staying out of the construction worker's way! Helped a bit with cold beers for the crew .... and myself-hard work indeed!

Set out to spend the day on the beach, but thunderstorms decided for me that wasn't such a good idea. So, I went shopping instead...got myself a new Hawaiian shirt and a very cool barette, souvenirs for the kids, a Mother's Day present for mom, and a couple more books to read (I've managed to finish the six I brought with me). Then I took myself out for what turned out to be pretty excellent sushi at a place just down the street.

Now I'm in for the evening, I think. I'm so stuffed I feel like I'm waddling.

Finally got new wiring run to the upstairs bathroom and installed the outlets.

Awesome stuff!! I didnt do much today, so i changed the spark plugs in the jeep yesterday and I used the E3 spark plugs with diamond technology! I was running BOSCH supers before. Dont see any difference as of yet but there supposed to last 5 years or 150k miles so at $5 a pop its up to you weather or not you want to buy them. I would go with a Autolite or NGK plugs. There only at the most a buck and a half and ive never seen or heard of anyone saying how spark plugs helped them win a race or what not.

Helped change some outside lights-looks better-most electrifying at times too-ouch .... Zap city!

witnessed 2 special-ed kids get into a full blown fight today in school....
it was intresting to say the least.

Tried valiantly to get boiled crawfish to take home...but the store was NOT cooperating. At 10:30am, they said they'd be done at 1:00pm. At 1:30pm they said it'd be another 1 1/2 hours. At 3:30pm, they said it'd be another 2 hours. I gave up.

Spent much quality time on the beach (and rediscovered that SPF30 means NOTHING on the Gulf Coast...you'd think I'd remember). Drove over to the casino and watched the Red Wings lose. Promptly lost everything I won t'other day plus another $20. C'est la vie...I had budgeted to lose $100 and it was only $20...I win.

Friday I drove home from Mississippi (16 1/2 hours), then hooked up with Patrick. Saturday I drove up to my sister's cabin (2 hours) and got well and truly drunk with two of my sisters and my mom. Today we got up and had breakfast, then I drove home, arriving just now.

Currently listening to the Red Wings game via online radio until my bar opens and I can go watch the rest of it.

Took my daughter for a ride in a couple of the firetrucks. They needed to get driven and she was happy to ride along.

Went up the Rubicon today. Well up to Rubicon Springs anyways. Still a little bit of snow and a buddy got stuck and when i went to pull him out, and my bumper got ripped off in the process!! Ill have a picture up soon.

Back to work. Bah. But at least we got cut after 3 1/2 hours so I got to come home for a bit (I'm back from 6pm to 11pm). I'm not used to it any more, it's been just over three weeks.

I was |.| that close to dressing Molly Ringwald this week, but this other woman decided to do it. That would've at least made the week interesting. Now I get ensemble (which isn't bad, just a lot busier).

Actually, the_burner is a corruption of my first and original nom de 'net of "the_byrner" in honour of David Byrne, lead man for Talking Head; my second all time favorite band next to The Beatles. Maybe if I went around "war driving" looking to steal wi-fi connections I would play "Life During War Time" from Fear of Music.

Checked out the beach to day-nice walk with friend. Waves braking, not much for surfing. Water about 61 degrees! Cleaning up out side of house .... red wood saw dust from much sanding. Stuff sticks to walls and trees. Fed animals-including my friendly squirrel that now greets me at the side door!

A bunch of little me's running around? wow who needs that?!!? Just working all day all night no sleep!

My day off (or should that be night off since I work over nights?). Installed my new under-cabinet am/fm iPod dock in the kitchen, attempted to practice "playing" guitar, went to the dentist for a filling.

Had a nice softball practice and got my girls signed up for their first tourney of the year. We won it last year.

May they play safely all year, have loads of fun and have a repeat of last year's performance.

We did win our first conference game tonight in extra innings. My daughter's blondness got in the winning runs. She tried to steal 2nd base but it was already occupied and on her trip back the catcher overthrew first base and 2 runs scored.

Getting set for some window installations of blinds today-need to move computer over so crew doesn't step on it! Did see the first season of Bones last night-kickback stuff-found it good and entertaining-rented for $2 at video store.

"Today" is a relative concept this week. I went to work Wednesday morning at 7am and haven't had more than six hours off at a time since. Today we started at 8am, and won't be going off the clock until around 10pm tomorrow unless we get way lucky. At least I'm in a position of authority (gotta love special skills) so I have internet access and cable TV to keep me occupied.
