-ohyeah-
-finished off the lift on the wife's jeep. Noticed some dryrot on the tread of these tires. Not too bad, will have to keep an eye on 'em though
-testdrove the rig- noticed some "Death wobble" (on link-suspended front ends, the vehicle acts just fine until a certain resonant frequency/speed, at which point it goes apeshit. Scars the shit out of one"
-fine whatever. Go through everything agin-- forgot to final torque the trackbar. Did so and the vehicle is much more drivable now. Only gives a bit of wobble when braking hard around 50mph. The caster angle is too far forward-- that will be addresed when I have it aligned.

Day started at 9am with a loadin for Collective Soul/Live/Counting Crows at our local minor league baseball stadium. At 6:00pm we switched from loadin mode to show mode. At 10:30pm we switched from show mode to loadout mode.
At 2:30am, after having stood around doing not one damn thing for 45 minutes, the promoter finally let us go home. He refused to pay us a four-hour minimum (which is in our contract) if we left early.

We were seriously contemplating locking him in a porta-john and leaving.

up at 800 yesterday, did all that schtuff I mentioned above about lifting the wife's jeep, new shocks, coils, etc. Took it for a string of test drives tweaking out the wobble as best I can so it's moderately drivable till Monday when she'll be able to get it aligned. It's the caster angle that's out, what with it being a coil-sprung vehicle with different-length control arms it's bound to change caster angle. I could dig out the protractors and so on and align it myself, but since my driveway is on a 9degree tilt it becomes an exercise in insanity. Been there doone that with the Cherokee and the longarm install. Never again.
-spent 3 hours cleaning up the yard by flashlight. Lost 1 13mm socket. Have to get the magnetic broom out.
-showered at 0030, in bed by 0100... and.. laid there.. for 2 hours. Farted about on the computer for a while, finally got to sleep about 0515... and got up at 0600.
SSS, on the bike by 0720, at work at 0745, and in this place till 2000. I may very well just rack out on the deck after my watch is over and catch a couple hours' nap before heading home to shower and continue with the sleeping.

worked the 1000-1800 yesterday, while running the wife's jeep to the alignment shop, errands, etc before and after work and my lunch hour.
-forgot my rainsuit, so of course it rained....
-Rode home in a torrent. Couldn't see 5 cars ahead or behind. Grinning like a loon all the while. I'm stopped in traffic and the lady next car over looks at me and shakes her head, pitying me. I just grinned, made a "rowing a boat sign, and flashed her thumbs up. Too bad she didn't flash me something in return...
Later, seeing drivers around me had their windows cracked, I yelled "HAH, Ya MISSED!" while looking at the sky when the lightning acted up a bit, loud enough for all to hear me. When the light changed, I had a nice wide safety margin for some reason...
got home, changed out of my wet clothes into dry, and borrowed the wife's jeep to see how the alignment worked out and to head downtown to meet up with a fellow rider who volunteered to give me a coil assembly for my bike. Damn good thing, too-- I think some of the streets would have flooded my bike. Noticed that the jeep still had a tendency to wobble, so sent wife back to the tire shop for new shoes this time. Ah well, using the takeoffs was worth a shot. All seems ok now except the jeep has a slight drift to the left- will take it back to the alignment shop sometime in the next week or two, is safe for now, just not perfect. Meanwhile I'll install the new pitman arm tierod end and poly boot.

Washed the car (insuring rain, although there's none in the forecast for at least a week), ran a ton of errands, caught up on a bunch of computer stuff I'd been putting off, made no-bake peanut butter-oatmeal cookies, finished off the pasta from last night, and watched a movie all by myself. Just waiting for the boy to get out of work so I can go over.

Hey JT, I am having problems with 3 bulging and arthritic disks in my c-spine. How does the injection help and how long do they last? My doc is looking at that as an option. I have been in PT and with a chiro for over a month now and not a whole lot of progress.

Well they say it take 24 - 48 hours for the anti-inflammatory steroid to start working and that sometimes the results can be dramatic. I'll let you know how it goes. My wife's has been to her primary care physician (3X), chiropractor (3X), neurosurgeon(1X), and now the pain specialist(2X), an X-ray and an MRI, all in in the past two weeks so you don't have to tell me about costly. But even after all that she still can't sit in a chair, or walk for more than ten feet without extreme pain.

I hear you on the cost (and I work here). I have had the MRI, chiro(x11), PT(x12) and I just talk to my doc in the am when he rounds. It is silly. I can walk and sit. Can't lay on my back at all, right side for a few minutes and left side occasionally. Amazing how this came on, out of nowhere.
I will be very interested to hear how the steroids work though.

...err, 'cept for the lower oil pipe banjo bolt that's on order. But was able to test the lighting, other electrical, etc. Even able to prime the carb and bump the engine over till the oil pump was primed (since the lower lube gally pipe is open, I can watch the lube oil flow through. Was getting a bit concerned after about 50 quick stabs at the igniion and I hadn't seen any oil. Was just about tocall a friend who's rebuilt his engine for his advice when she promptly squirted me in the face with a slug of 15X40 Rotella.
Hey, gotta love a girl that squirts. Good-time party girl

While futzing around with the controls I then realized I had the choke on "Run". Moved it to "Start" and pressed the starter button-- and she tried to start on me (a couple pops from the cylinder. Good stuff!

We were up until 12:30pm, when the boy had to go to work. I promptly fell asleep and woke up at 4pm, just before he got home. Went our separate ways until tomorrow (he's out of town doing a gig tonight, then staying with his ex for the night since she lives right there).
Came home and did four loads of laundry, which took over six hours because of the $^@^!@#$ power grid here. The lines are from before everyone had air conditioners, and it's hot as hell. We're at the very end of the line, and there's simply not enough power left for our house. Therefore, every time the washing machine goes into the spin cycle, it pops the breaker.

Not a matter of too little power - sounds like the washer's pump and motor is drawing too much current. That's what trips a breaker.
Left work at 9am - picked up a prescription for 100 percocet for the wife ( damn I hope she doesn't need them much longer) went home, ate some breakfast, did some laundry, watched tv, slept for 4 hours, ate dinner and came back to work at 9pm

Yesterday went down to visit my parents in NJ. On the way we stopped at "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" - Kevin Smith's memorabilia/comic shop in Redbank. Kevin was in town for a birthday bash but unfortunatly, he wasn't in the store. After the store, we stopped and picked up a helmet for my cycle and then onto my parents. Mom has six radiation and one chemo treatment left. She can't eat solid food right now and her neck is burned. With the treatmens there's only a 10% recurrance possibility. Unfortunately, they found another lump on her neck this week. They think it's just scar tissue or a growth that's now "dead" but we won't know until Tuesday.

I see your point, but you're both right....
the compressor is gonna draw "X" watts, either way. If that's, say, 2200watts, at 220VAC, that's 10 amps.
But if the supply voltage drops due to load, down to say, 200VAC, the machine will now pull 11 amps. Which just might make the difference between operational and kicked breaker.

Trust me, I'm not just talking out of my ass here. We have a brand new washer and dryer, there's nothing wrong with them. In summer, for the last 10-15 years, if we use too many things at once in our house, breakers pop like champagne corks on New Years. About five years ago, I had the power company out here almost on a daily basis, where it was determined by them that one leg coming into our house was fluctuating so badly they couldn't get an accurate reading on it.
