Try taking the car the next time.

Woke up before 6 a.m.. No big deal. Big storm coming. All the different weather services agree for once. LOL. Probably spit a few drops then clear up immediately.

received the last bolt I needed for my KLR at about 1430 yesterday when I got home from errands and lunch and had to be back on the road by 1500 to get to work.
So of course, spent about 20 minutes installing said bolt and cranking the KLR-beast and finally hearing her run. She's ALIIIIIIVE!!!!

Got a wierd spark-knock sorta sound. I believe it's the gas, which has been sitting in the tank for a few months with a ton of Sta-Bil in it. Will probably go ahead and drain it off (thank goodness I bought that vacuum pump- I can use it to activate the petcock easily) and pop in new fuel. So I should be good to go for a while for gas for the yard tools.

Working outside today in yard. Raccoons still doing a job in the yard at night playing about! Understand the use of Raccoon coats in the past somewhat better now!

My mouse when South when doing this thread-right click-so, off to the garage and actually found an old Microsoft ball type! Took out computer from desk-discovered where all the dust was hiding-cleaned same, and replaced mouse. So apparently, all working-so far!

had a meeting with the PM today at my office.
They want to try me in the position for a month, then I'm to let them know next month if I want the pos or not.
It entails more duties of course, I need to be available at prety much any time, and there will be a raise as well- not sure how much though. I'd lke 20% but I doubt that's gonna fly.
They also want me to get my CCNA by next month and get enrolled in college and start working on my degree.
Well, here I go, setting off in Demon's footsteps, seems.......

got almost 2 1/2 hours of good sleep before the wife woke me with an emergency-- her truck wouldn't start.
Well, sweety, see, when this little yellow light that looks like a gas pump comes on and the convenience center starts sounding an alert, it means you need to consider putting some gasoline in the truck-- actually, you should already have. ESPECIALLY when you come home and park on the hill that is our driveway.
Fucking hell. What does she think the damn thing runs on, my shattered dreams? Luckily I happen to have had 2 gallons of gas sitting around which was just enough to get it cranked.

stupidest smart person I know, sometimes....... this is at least the third time we've covered this, and each time it's been in the same situation. Next fucking time I'm going to let her figure out how she's getting to work on memories of gasoline.
(if I am honest, though, I do just as stupid stuff on occasion. We're all human after all. I was just growsy due to being tired earlier. Shit, she puts up with me, she MUST be a saint.

Have a chain sorta noise coming from the back end. Think it's time for a new chain. Seems the DSPO didn't care for it properly, and it did sit without lube for near 7 years without moving.
Got a fellow KLR ride coming by this week to give her a listen. I would prefer to replace it only if I have to- it's $80 worth of parts. Gah!
Might just go ahead and do it.. Dunno. We'll see.

I would say that we both work at the same company but living in different countries and you being an edumacated man, with me being a ditch digger.....

Yeah, same disgust here. One of the few things I am thankful for with my job is that I get to work by myself 90% of the time. Therefore I don't have to deal with the chuckleheads for the most part. However, today will be a real blessing as I have to teach two young idiots how to properly trim a huge property. EVen the boss is too chickenshit to want to try to teach them.

for a test spin. low tire pressure, wheels could use balance, need to install the new chain... but mostly, need new primary inner and outer cover gaskets. Got a class 3 leak from the primary. But I knew that, and they've been on order for 3 days now, ought to be here tomorrow.
meanwhile, she just sits there and mocks me..
