Did the SSS after watching the Sports Reporters, The Reporters and Sports Center. Off now to work and shopping for grocery/personal grooming items. May go look at comp stuff at my two favorite comp stores.

Woke up at noon with a headache and an attitude. Decided I should spend the better part of the day alone with a book until one or both of those things changes.

Decided that $200 to have my resume professionally written is a good investment. After my dad's sickness in the beginning of the year and mom's treatment for cancer for the past six weeks I've realized that to be myself again I need to change employers. The fact that our current CEO is running us into the ground is just icing on the cake.

Got up early (for us, 11:45am). Dropped my SO off at work, returned an omygod amount of bottles from his apartment, then ran him cigarettes and gum so he could get through his day. Came home, threw in a load of laundry, called unemployment (I get a big check in two days thank gods...I made jack working a whole 16 hours in the last two weeks), popped a ham in the oven, and cleaned the bathroom.

Later I may nap. icon_lol.gif

I'm sure you won't, but if you have any questions about that, let me know. I've been using flashed 54Gs for years. LOVE DD-wrt!!!

Went to work at a local university setting up their fieldhouse for freshman orientation. T'was also "move in day" on campus, so traffic was an extra special treat. icon_lol.gif Went immediately from there to a meeting, then home to eat for the first time at 7pm. Collapsed in my chair until my SO called, then hopped in the shower (feeling MUCH more human now) and am ready to head over to his house for a couple of days.

Went to work another boring day.

Got the title and license plate for the RT and paid for a year of State Farm insurance. Repaired a cup holder with epoxy and replaced the combo deep marine/starting battery with a brand new one. Old one didn't start this morning. Headed to stereo center in a bit to replace the old outdated am/fm/cassette with a cd unit. Perhaps I'll get remote control too. Tried to repair the vent range fan but the new motor I bought didn't work either. I guess that means the switch is bad because power going to that motor should have been there. ( The light was working). Got a haircut. Meeting at 6 p.m. uggg.

Well....woke at 2 this afternoon to my pager looking for weather spotters and then looked out the window at one hell of a storm. Some say tornado, some say striaghtline winds. I spent the next several hours clearing roads and cutting trees. A house 2 doors down got demolished by a tree that uprooted, spun and dropped on the house. One of the cart sheds was lifted and thrown over the other one. The gasoline tank was knocked down and we got to clean that up. 28 trees down on one side of the lake, several more on the other. The golf course is a mess of limbs, trees and leaves. Our house is plastered with twigs and leaves. Thankfully, no damage to our house. Even more thankfully, nobody was injured.

When they say you will hear what sounds like a freight train...wow!! Temp dropped 10-15 degrees and damn what a wind. shocking.gif

We went and stayed with my mom and I called home a bit ago and we have power again!!!

500 miles on the KLR without a hitch. Breakin period? What's that? icon_smile.gif She got dirty within 100 miles of getting back on the road, and had seen the rev limiter far before that. icon_wink.gif

Emailed the sign shop my friend's wife runs for the 5th time in a month-- I need a reflective rim stripe kit for this bike. I believe they're getting deluged with requests.. might just better take a trip out to Norcross GA and show up on her doorstep with $20 and make her print them out right then and there. icon_biggrin.gif

Had to dodge the guy who came to re-attach the tiles in my SO's shower today FINALLY after four months of putting notice in to the office that they'd fallen off. Unfortunately, he chose to show up 45 minutes before we both had to be at work. Luckily, we both took showers last night so it wasn't a huge deal, but still...I hate going to work without a shower. At least he got into the tub to do it so we could use the sink to get ready.

Worked for two hours. Stopped by his work to say hi, now I'm home making dinner. Which I will run to him later.

Just this second came to the realization that we're still co-dependent. help.gif inlove.gif

We lost the first softball game 16-1. Got called after 5 innings so we didn't get further embarrassed. BOy do we need a lot of practice. Later today I hit the batting cage. Too bad I had asthma as a child and never got to play Little league. I think it hurt me . Oh well , maybe tonight we will do a little better. However we were winning 1-0 after the top half of the first inning. Then it went south.

our annual, airsoft tournament and was I holding up a POW and a insurgent came from behind me and but I retaliated by doing a cool move, by throwing my gun under my arm and pulling out my sidearm to keep the POW under control, and shot the insurgent in the chin just behind where his mask ended...I'm talking muzzle to skin close. He don't like me right now....needless to say I kept that prisoner till the game was over. dance.gif dance.gif Go me...

found out a good friend had a get off while doing a 100CCC

( a 100 CCC is a ride on one bike by one rider, done within 100 hours, Coast-to-Coast-to-coaast. Sanctioned by the IIBA "International Iron Butt Asssociation", a long-distance motorcycling group).

She was on her outward leg, from Jacksonville FL to San Diego CA. Making amazing time- something like 18 hours from JAX to Tuscon AZ when she had her accident.

Don't know what happened-- she experienced a blackout, likely due to a helmet strike- but she ended up with a broken right clavicle and a burst T11 spinal injury. She is in a great deal of pain, but otherwise ok. They're not going to operate but will instead be putting her in a turtleshell brace and monitoring the injury so it heals well. Apparently it is not as bad as it could have been, thank the gods.

She was doing this ride to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation. The group she was riding with had previously set a record of $5000 for fundraising. She's so far doubled that- $10,000 and high change. Donations are still coming in.

First thing she said when she talked to her man- -"I'm done with motorcycling." Well, we hope not, because she has such a passion for it- but it's understandable if so, as she's wadded up two bikes in two months. But this is a lady that was runing about 70,000 miles/year, and did a solo run from the SC upstate to Alaska last year. She really is QUITE an amazing lady, and all who meet her know this.

Personally-- went for my first dirt ride on the KLR today, with two friends with KLRs. Actually, more of a mud ride. TONS of fun, lots of water crossings, and I dropped the bike 5 times. Owing to the bars I put on it (damn near a full rollcage- Paris-Dakar rally sorta stuff) all I did was laugh and go again.

Slept in since we didn't participate in the parade this year (our trailer got stolen two weeks ago and no one had time to do anything about it). Went to the park and worked the Union Label booth during the picnic, then got roped into going onstage to draw the raffle winners' names (we gave away 3 Carhart coats and a pair of Carhart jeans). Came home, cleaned the house, took out the trash, ran through the shower, and am now killing time until I'm supposed to pick the boy up. We're going on a date! Our second one ever! Not bad for just shy of a year of being together. icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif
