went to bed about 0300 today. Just now got up.

Feel substantially better than I have in the past days since Friday. At least now I'm not constantly gulping down megadoses of vitamins and herbs (via Airborne-- great shit, that) and taking Excedrin Migraine every 4 hours just to feel like crap (which in itself was a huuuuge improvement).

Still have a very sore throat and a few aches, but I suspect they're more from laying about for days more than anything, Gonna take tomorrow off as well as a buffer day. After one's been this sick it's not a good idea to push back into the thick of things too fast.

Sitting here with a mug of OJ thinking about nuking another part of the steak I cut up last night after I grilled it and having another sammie. Good schtuff.... wonder if I have any horseradish in the fridge as a garnish????

hmmm.. hot stuff... better idea... maybe some sweet and sour soup from the chinese place down the way? It's the ultimate feel better food for a sore throat....

Just be glad you are separated by time and distance from both bk and I or you'd be fighting a two front war. Those don't end too well as history has proven.

:nods: seconded. Wish I could do something-- like whip the doc's ass for calling you a drug addict.

I had one call me that once. See, I am missing most of the septum in my nose, from multiple breaks and septorhynoplasties. This is classic sysmptopm of a cocaine addict, apparently.

some cocksure doc made an offhand comment to an underling about drug abusers and having to fix their sinus problems. "Like this druggie here" he says, nodding to me.

I explained to the nice doctor that while I understand where hes coming from, the damage is also possible from botched sinus repair operations, if he'd looked in my chart he would have noticed that, and perhaps he should work on his bedside manner before someone fixes it for him. Then I removed my thumb and middle finger from behind his windpipe.

(I'm VERY touchy about drugs- can't abide them, having lost a few friends and one love to them)

another reason not to run BS gimmick plugs. Electricity follows the path of least resistance... not the three least resistant paths.

Careful now, dont want to raise your blood pressure! Did you remember to take your meds today?!!?
Well I read some good reviews about the plugs and decided to try them, I replaced them with the Bosch Platinum ones. I have been miss fire free for 3 days!! And i see the same power/gas gain as i did with the E3 plugs. Granted its not much, but its still some!

And for all of you older gents/peeps, dont take offense to the cracks i make its just in good fun. And besides we wouldnt want you to get stressed and have a heart attack or a stroke!

Have a squirrel named Sidney, that comes to our yard for food, (she likes multi-grain bread) and pine cones in the trees-fed her today-Ms. Df fed the birds and cats. Checked out some of the stores for food that a check book, and mortgage statement wasn't required, and did escape with about $50 outlay for one bag of groceries. Did get some flowers for my partner-she liked that, although not always happy with my food acquisitions. Unfortunately, did not have a chance to check out any DVD's today. icon_smile.gif
Mister 4x4
Just completed my last day of work as a contractor for General Dynamics.

Monday morning, I start my new job as the Site IAM for the 17th Training Group as a Dept of the Air Force civilian employee.

The fine folks I work(ed) with turned out in much bigger numbers than I would've expected, and we had a good time at lunch. They gave me a spiffy going-away gift as well... a nice bone-handle knife with an eagle flying scene in the handle with an engraved blade as well. They also had a plaque engraved for the case that had the particulars about my tenure with the company and and thanked me for my hard work and professionalism. One of the guys made a comment about my new job and got me a big foam cowboy hat with a star on it and said, 'There's a new Sheriff in town.' Cracked me up, and I vowed to wear it when I visit his office on the next security inspection.

The lady that didn't hire me for the job I really wanted was there as well representing the squadron I had been working for - she said a lot of nice things about what I've done for them and gave me a squadron coin and engraved pint glass.

It was a good day.

Practicing for the forthcoming takeover of our northern neighbors.....

no such animal.

a 350 (in Chevy parlance) is a smallblock. a 454 is a bigblock.

You MIGHT be able to squeeze a 454 into a Jeep. IIRC off the top of my head, it's about 3" bigger than a SBC in every direction.

Now a 350 will fit in there with minimal fuss. Hardest thing about it was the left-side steering and the manifolds. Not so much hard to do as required a few extra ujoints and braces to snake through the manifold.

If you REALLY want something special, bolt in a 350. Inside the 350, bolt in the crank and rods from a 454. Instant 383-stroker. (It's not quite that simple, but damned close).

Of course with the price of gas, ya might just consider a Cummins 4BT swap. 4 cylinder turbodiesel. V-8 torque, and the ability to run off of waste veggie oil, diesel, JP4,5,8, kerosene, pretty much any-damn-thing-that'll-burn. Oh yeah- -and 30MPG or better while doing it. icon_wink.gif
Snuffy
Oops i ment long* block. I Had a buddy throw one in his cj8 and it fits with minor modification. But yes other than that a small block. Maybe i just start walking up the trails to save gas! and that way ill get more cardio
Mister 4x4
Screw that - find an AMC 304, 360, or 401 and drop it in instead. The cool thing is it'll be a complete bolt-in deal - only have to change the passenger side motor mount... it'll bolt up to the transmission even.

Plus, you'll be preserving a little Jeep heritage, considering those engine came offered as optional equipment - unlike a Chevy 350.
