Went to our school's 3rd round playoff game, they lost...but fought their asses off.
My daughter had 2 bball games today. Lost them both, but the first was in double OT. They are actually showing some nice improvement, considering they are playing kids 1-2 years older than them.

fried up some bambi just a few minutes ago. mmmmm, good.
Yup, definitely gotta start hunting. Been talking with some friends that hunt and they pretty much all suggest I start off in the woods behind my house. Get a safety course, get a high-powered air rifle (or tune up my bow), and start plinking off squirrels and rabbits in the woods. This gives me marksmanship and stalking practice, and will give me practice dressing small animals so that, if I do spoil the meat, it's not such a loss as a doe or buck would be. They all skin out the same way, just some are bigger than others.
Gonna have to keep an eye out at the local Walmart near the end of the season and get a new site for my bow, etc....
BTW, really glad to hear about your promotion, Eric. Onya!!!

It's 9:24am. I couldn't get to sleep until almost 5:30am. So far today I've done dishes, picked up the house, done a load of laundry, and hauled the trash container up from the curb. Mom's coming home in 1 1/2 hours.

Got a haircut, picked up some more stuff to install the amp and subs into the Honda (picked out the Lanzar 50wx2 to run the subs when I finally get there)... and wound up fighting with the two front bolts that hold on the center 'console.' I picked up an actual center console with storage from eBay a few months back, and still haven't been able to get the old one out to get it in. Got one busted and backed out about a half turn, but all the years of funk and factory threadlock are giving me Hell.
Gave up on it (after thoroughly soaking them in PB Blaster)... let 'em cook awhile longer. Probably whip out the Dremel and cut the f00kers loose next weekend.

I
think I've got mom basically settled at home. She's doing much better with this knee than the last one, that's for sure...I haven't had to help her stand up yet, and she's pretty sure by tomorrow night she'll be able to get into bed without me having to help her. Now if only she could drive so I didn't have to lose so much money taking her to doctors' appointments... (yeah, I know...always looking for the dark cloud around the silver lining, but I cannot afford to lose much more work over this).
Made an ungodly huge shepherd's pie for dinner, but forgot to drain the lamb before I put it in so it's a little soupy...could be worse. Still pretty damn tasty.

Just realized a few minutes ago I haven't seen or talked to the boy since he left for work Friday morning.

Got up, came home and took mom to physical therapy. Did not notice as she was trying to get out of the car that she'd wrapped her hand around the post between the open front and back doors and shut the back door. Much screaming and blood, but nothing broken, thank gods. How awful a daughter am I to maim her freaken HAND when she's using a walker because of her knee? Felt like hell all day.
Cannot stay awake any more...think I'm doing one of those bouts with depression again.
