Worked on hot water heater in my RV which for some reason failed to light up. I have determined the printed circuit board must be bad and took quite a while to find one on the web. The durn thing is $110. A brand new water heater is only $335. Well , either I am right and I save $225 or I am wrong and I added $110 to the cost of a new water heater. Time will tell. The new board will be here soon. I am eager to test my diagnostic skills.

Thanks for the heads up Snuffy. Damn, nearly spelled your name as Duffy for some odd reason. Must be the PGA golf commercial with Jesper Parnevik and that Duffy fellow. Funny as hell.
Good luck with the RV's water heater and/or board. Let's hope it is just the board.

Thus far, made bed, cleaned kitty litter and surrounding area, made breakfast for me, made a new bowl of moist cat for Shady, filled up her dry food, laid out in glasses vit/min for two days, straightened living room and main front desk, laid out clothes for later on, answered and stored email, about to do dusting in the living room area and I'm going to install an outside threshold for the apartment door, played with Shady, gave her a few cat treats (Whiskas Temptations - good for behaviour modification....

) and drinking my coffee/eating breakfast. All in all, not much as of yet.

Gotta go replace the serpentine belt on Mom's car today. It broke down yesterday afternoon, and when I got the new belt from O'Reilly Auto Parts, discovered they'd given me the wrong one (60" vice 61"). So Jemezman and I struggled for 2 hours trying to 'stretch' this too short belt with no luck.
The last time this happen, he suggested I keep the belt jacket so I'd have the right p/n when I went to the store. Well, I did... but it was buried in her trunk under all 300 lbs of her 'treasures.' And of course, we only discovered this
after they'd already closed for the night. In fact, the last time this happened, I mentioned to O'Reilly's that they should update their database, because I'm sure I'm not the only one to have come across this. But no - they hadn't done that.
Sigh.
Oh well - Mom's come into some money recently, so we're going car-shopping soon anyway. I'm hoping Jemezman will think that taking the car off Mom's hands for one of his sons to drive won't be a bad idea.

Saw Beowulf last night. OMFG i hated that F***ing HATED that movie. I went in thinking it was real action, which it wasnt, it was CGI. And it was Shitty CGI. The story line was meh at best. All in all i give it a 2 out of 5 *'s. Bigger review later.

Did lead triage for a disaster drill. 21 kids in a school bus vs. an anhydrous ammonia tank. Me and my crew kicked ass!! We had the kids out of the ambulances and into the appropriate areas in record time. Scary thing to run through though...kind of a reality check on just what can happen. 5 kids died.

Other than that...beat and ready for bed and then a pancake breakfast at 6am for the FD tomorrow.

Checked out the weather-overcast at the beach. Looking now for some sort of wood preservative wipe on wipe off stuff to protect the finish of outside wood furniture. Quite possibly the redwood deck with out making it a mess later on for repainting if necessary too-all redwood, mahogany, and teak-salt air does a trip on everthing!

Took my Mom around to all of the beater car lots, actually found some nice prospects. Unfortunately, the KBB values on the models we looked at are a little different than I figured they'd be.
Hopefully, we'll be able to get the one she really has her eye on.

Thought I would try once more to repair the hot water heater in the RV. So I gambled and ordered the electronic module board for $110 online. After approximately 1 minute of installation ( two connections and two screws ) I flipped the switch and voila , perfection. I do so like it when things can be repaired. I guess that's what I like about being a doc too.

My older sister is trying to broker a "deal" between my mother and I. I told her not to bother. My mother is too old and unwilling to change and due to the problems she encountered in her youth, way too far into denial. Such is life. I love my family very much. I just refuse to be the scapegoat for other people's issues. I won't bore you or anyone else with my minor problems. Thanks for listening thus far.

return match with the turkey and fixkings, went to work at 1500. Now researching my AR15 build....
I'm thinking a cast lower receiver, with swappable barrels- something around .380 for deerhunting, which I hope to start next year. I basically have a year to get to building my weapon. Goinig with the AR15 (Civvie version of the M16) owing to flexibility- slap on a different upper receiver in a different chambering, and I'll be able to do everything from plinking at targets to taking large game.
