Started to drink as i think I feel "something" coming on. Throat is hot-scratchy and my head is beginning to throb.

Come on alcohol - kill them beasties!
Mister 4x4
Ordered some rims and skins for the Honda today. Check it out in the Planes, Trains, and Automobiles section.

Installed my 2-way fire/ambulance radio in my truck with the help of a couple friends. Looks like a professional install, you would never know 3 half-wits did it. winkiss.gif
Dragonfly
Demon, best wishes to the middle daughter-and all the children! Checked on solar lights tonight at steps-they actually work! Still, will put a few more lights with juice at these spots-but, for now successful as a back-up!
Snuffy
Just got home from the cruise. Will give a bigger thing later.. Had fun, Tired!
burntkat
put the crossmember in the truck, transmission is actually fully mechanically mounted back in the truck now. Only took me 8 damn months. Am about to go pound in a new ujoint for the rear shaft, should get it installed tomorrow evening. Have to work 0800-2000.

I've been having WAAAYYY too much fun on the bike, and the weather's been too nice, see.

did some minor gunsmithing work on my 9mm pistol. Keltec P11- good BUG, and small enough it'll be a good summer (Oh-my-god-it's-fuggin'-HOT) CCW in a crotch or pocket holster. I like the pistol, but it relies on a lloooooong double-action-only trigger as it's only safety. While this isn't a problem in the real world, I will likely carry Condition 3 (full mag in the weapon, empty chamber) to avoid any possibilty of an accidental discharge.

Sign-of-the-times that folks are scarfing up CWPs. There's a waiting list for the training locally. When your law enforcement friends ask why you haven't gotten yours yet, you have to listen....

Just finished patching some holes in a Pelican case with epoxy putty. Damn stuff's expensive at Lowes, migt be time to order some of the stuff billy Mays is pushing on late-night TV. Epoxy putty is epoxy putty, and the stuff he's selling seems a good deal in terms of price/volume. I'll be needing a lot of the stuff as I have 3 more boxes to seal up, and multiple more on the way cheap from Ebay. These are going to be luggage for the bike for camping in the spring. $30 for luggage versus $700 thumbup1.gif

So the week long Carnival cruise review.
Over all i give the cruise a 6.5 out of 10

The Good The service was top notch and the quality of food was excellent. All the employees were extremely nice, and spoke great english!

The Bad The ship was full of nothing but little kids and old people.

The Ulgy OMFG IT WAS EXPENSIVE thumbdown.gif Yes at 8 dollars a cocktail not so bueno.

All in all it was a great way to relax, but bring your money!
the_burner
Thanks for the info, Snuffy. Always appreciated. Where were your start/end points, where did you go, what places did you visit/have the opportunity to visit and why Carnival for you and your family?
Dragonfly
Cleaned computers, did another solar light system of two lights in a needed area, lotto ticket did not win unfortunately!
Snuffy
We left San Diego were at sea for a day. First port was Cabo San Lucas, we docked at 8ish and were there till 5ish. Were at sea the whole next day. Made port the next morning in Ensenada around 8ish left at 5ish. The back to San Diego the next morning.

Well it was the first cruise for me and mom, and my grandfather had been on this ship back on 03 and said it was nice, so that was where our choice came from.
Dragonfly
Did not realize drinks are so much! Was under the misunderstanding that booze was almost like food -that they gave it away! Was there gambling aboard this ship?
Did food for animals inside, and outside-saw a hawk today checking out the parrots-got them inside post haste!
This is what the little dude looks like, A Kestrel Hawk:

Want some of my snow, ya schmuck!?? "Weather's been too nice".... (wanders off grumbling)

Oh yeah, I was gonna post. icon_biggrin.gif Went to work, took 1 hour 20 minutes to tear down a show, then another 2 hours 15 minutes to load ONE freaken truck. Came home to a houseful of people (forgot my sister and her family were coming over), now hiding in my office. The boy's out of town until tomorrow afternoon. *sigh*
the_burner
Df. Where I work in west Winnipeg, there are a lot of Kestrels around because there still are a lot of open fields, bush and undeveloped land. I'm pretty sure we also have some Red Tail hawks around here also. Big buggers. Cheers.
bull
Went to my cousin's kids b-day and then programmed my radio.
Dark
Went out with my G/F to take a walk. Nice thing to have convos while walking.
Mister 4x4
Been sittin' around coughing up what's left of my lungs and whatever toxic waste substance my sinuses have been producing for about a week now. Originally started as a chest cold, and got over that portion of it. But now the pesky 'itchy' cough won't go away and between that and drainage - Let's just say I haven't slept more than about 90 minutes at a time for the past 5 days.

Oh yeah, and I pulled the front brakes off the Honda today with Jemezman's help - judging by the factory bolts hold the rotors to the hubs and the amount of 'lived in Hawaii' surface rust on the rotors, I'd say we got our money's worth out of those brakes (almost 193,000 miles).

most likely the SSID isn't being broadcast- you'll need to get into the AP and make it so...

or use Netstumbler to hunt for networks icon_wink.gif

Rebuilt two PCs for the girls less memory.

Not much of anything. Just chilling at home with my youngest for new years. Wife is at work and oldest is at a party with friends.
burntkat
Went on a dualsport moto ride with the local KLR riders. 2 wheels, mud, and mayhem. Ohyeah icon_biggrin.gif

65 degrees was the high here today. Good fishing weather..
Felix4067
Shoveled the sidewalks twice, but other than that...nothin'. The boy either didn't come back into town or decided to spend New Year's with someone other than me. I watched the ball drop.
Peap
went to a new year's party...not a bad time...found out I kick a$$ at sining at Rock Band... wheeeeeh.gif

anyway, got to do my run today and that's about it...need to get back to business as usual
Felix4067
Went grocery shopping with mom. There's an adventure. icon_lol.gif She's still using her cane to walk, and I'm used to breezing through the entire store in 30 minutes or less. We were there for 2 1/2 hours! icon_lol.gif
Snuffy
Dont go back to work till the 8th so just taking it easy. AKA sleeping off the hangover!!!
Felix4067
Finally saw the boy last night! Turns out he didn't come home Monday night but yesterday instead. We didn't get up until 3pm. icon_lol.gif Ran some errands with him, dropped him off at work, stopped by my office for a bit (where I discovered that our "IT" guy screwed everything up so no one can access anything from anywhere), now I'm home making ham for dinner.
Snuffy
Took the dog for a run. Or more so he took me!
Peap
did nothing in school today...no...I take that back, in shop I watched 300, and Shaolin Soccer (funny foreign film)
I love those B-rated foreign films...were they're all speaking Cantonese, or Chinese, or somthing close to...I love them movies...

anyway...talking to Snuffy on MSN now, and getting ready for bed...

all in all...did nothing of utmost importance today...
bull
Watched my kids play bball last night. Youngest won her first game of the year with 4 rebounds and 2 points. Oldest had a good game too, 6 points and 4or5 rebounds.

Get to take my first night of ambulance call tonight.
Felix4067
Sitting at my office waiting for someone to show up who can sign the check that's been cut. I get that not everyone is approved, but wouldn't you think the office manager, who writes all the checks and handles everything related to our payroll company, would be one of them? Ah well...someone should be here soon, and I've only been waiting an hour.
bull
My bball team (6th grade boys) played our first 2 games today and we won!!! 2-0...

Should we quit now, while we're ahead. icon_mrgreen.gif
Peap
helped a friend move to his new house, and had to take an entertainment stand down a fire-escape...and I was standing on the corner of the metal railing about 35-40ft up in the rain trying to turn the damn thing to get it straight down the stairs...good times today...good times...
heading back over tommorw to help with the last 2 things....couches... thumbup1.gif
Snuffy
I actually drank and got into a bar fight!!!!!!!! God Bless the Corps!
burntkat
buncha nothing today. Went and bought a new HDD to replace the one that is rapidly dying in my machine.

While at WallyWorld, bought a set of eyes and ears for the kid and I. We're going shooting tomorrow at the range in the National Forest. Eyes (eye protection- shooting/safety glasses) and ears (ear protection- ear muffs). OUTSTANDING muffs, especially at only $8. Will also probably put earplugs in the kids ears as well, depending on what we're shooting. I may stop in at the pawnshop and grab that Mauser I've been looking at tomorrow. $60 for a rifle is kinda hard to pass up- especially with all matching numbers and a stock in pretty good shape as well. Oh sure, a ding here and there on the stock, but for a rustfree weapon that served in WW2... thumbup1.gif It oughta poke holes in targets and critters.
bull
We get to clean horse stalls today. We are moving our horses from 20 miles away to about 3. thumbup1.gif
Felix4067
I was up late waiting for something that never happened. So...I just got up. It's 5:25pm. Whatever.
burntkat
took the kid shooting. Popped off 5.56, 7.62, ah hell, all sorts of ammo. He did VERY well, both in behaviour and shooting, to consider he'd never shot anything bigger than a bb gun before- and that, only a few times.

He and I had a BALL today. Score!!
Demon
logged in and I am posting via my iPod Touch!
Peap
am tired and sore as hell from this weekend moving washers, dryers, refrigerators, couches, desks, dressers, entertainment stands and a damn deep freezer...

helped a friend move...
and all I got was a carton of cigs and a bottle of budlight... thumbup1.gif tongue_smilie.gif

about to grab a shower, and pass out.

yesterday, coming back from shooting, the kid and I stop at McD's for a late lunch.

I walk back to the counter because, surprise surprise, they forgot the barbeque sauce for Wil's nuggets. Just like they always do.

As I turn around to go back, one of the ladies in line asks what I'm wearing. I look at my shirt, she says "No, what scent?"

I stop, think... reply honestly- "gunsmoke". She's probably thinking some sort of great new scent based on the rugged old west. When all along, it's the residue of explosives. naughty.gif

BTSOOM what she liked about it- I don't wear cologne often and had none on at the time. Wierd...

Cooling it to day to some extent-worked all week-end. Did remove trash, check out area for water, and wind damage-fortunately, none! Worked a bit on projected work projects ... now will cool it with the animals-making food for them in about an hour-need to do some cage cleaning, and check outside cat-he is feral, and likes the outdoors-he was fine this morning-have several areas for him to hit for cover from rain/cold, if he needs it.
the_burner
I admire what you do on a cotinual basis for the animals/pets, Df. Inspires me to do more. Thank-you. thumbup1.gif

I am so bored after having two days off in a row (and not seeing the boy since Saturday) I could shoot myself between the eyes. I went so far as to clean out three closets today. icon_rolleyes.gif Also today I played so many computer games on my laptop it shut itself off three different times due to overheating.

Anybody need anything built or wired or anything? I'm losin' my damn mind!
burntkat
slept till about 1100. Woke up, nearly too late to SSS before going to work at 1400.

Got to work, casually checked my cellphone for messages. 5 since I looked at it before the ride in. WTF?

Wife left the messages- her truck's acting up. Turns out it's the transmission. wallbash.gif

Arranged the garage, tow, purchase of new transmission, and garage services to R&R the transmission. All for what looks to be a shade under $1900. Ouch, but what are you gonna do?
Felix4067
Re-discovered the joys of being together after a couple of days apart. Good lord but I love that boy.
