Ive been taking Tech Ed for awhile, its supposed to be Technical Education. Half of it is Woodshop, the rest is making videos and using Photoshop etc.

Well, we had to take something apart. So my friend brought in this Sweet Ass 40mb Hard drive that was Twice the size of my 80gb one icon_biggrin.gif . Well, when I opened it I was expecting to find all these little Elves speaking Binary, but I didnt see any! Instead I just saw stupid Circuits and a Disk.

I was perplexed to the location of the Binary speaking Elves. Perhaps in the old days Hard Drives were made of Circuits, and not Elves. Still, this cannot be true, according to the "Book of Binary" Elves have always been in Hard drives. Than I realized, to get the hard drive open we had to do quite a bit of Drilling. We most definitely scared the crap out of the little Buggers. So, I put the Hard Drive onto the table, and sat there waiting for them to come out of their hiding places. Almost an hour went by, and I didnt hear even one lousy 1 or 0. So, I went home for that day, Battle Scarred, but not Defeated.

The next day I slowly tip-toed into the room, I saw the Hard Drive. It was laying helplessly on the table, so Unsuspecting of my Presence. I quickly ran up to the table, jumped up in the air and pointed "Ah Ha!" Alas, they were to quick for me. By the time I had even began running they were already safe within their Processor homes. I would have to find a way to get to them from inside their processors. I pondered this idea for another 20 minutes, finally I pulled out a pocket knife and slowly tore off one of the smaller Processors (I didnt want to completely destroy their Beautiful Habitat icon_cry.gif ). I finally got it off, still, I thought the Elves would run out of the processor screaming in their Elvish voices. However, there was no such Elven run to safety. So, I cracked the Processor in half, I saw nothing, but black plastic and wires. I sat there for a second, stunned. I realized, that by cracking the processor open, I had killed the Elves that lived within it!

After mourning the Death of the Elves, I remembered a curious thing. If I had killed the Binary Elves, why didnt I see little Dead bodies littered across the Circuit board? I thought about it for a minutes, this is when I understood, that I had been Tricked! I returned the next day, with a hand drill, I individually drilled holes through each of the tiny Processors and Surge Converters. I stayed Optimistic, Every Failure just meant I was one processor closer, to finding the little Elves. As time went on, the number of remaining processors dwindled, finally there were none left. Still, none of the Fabled Binary Speaking Elves!

What a fool I had been! Of course, they werent in the Circuit Board, they were in the disk! I realized the importance of this, so I Immediately opened the disk up. No sign of the Elves yet, so I dug deeper, I looked through every crook and cranny. I opened, broke and played with every piece I saw. However, it seems the Elusive Elves have yet again Outsmarted me.

Now, Fpeeps, I ask of you one favor.

Can anyone tell me where to find the Magical Binary Speaking Elves that live within our Computers?

I think they look somewhat like the following picture.

How old was the drive??? Dose it (did it?) work? Perhaps since the drive laved dormant for years the elves have moved on. Surely you can’t expect them to hang around in a dusty old drive that has been in the bottom of a box in the basement for years.

Crack open that new 80gb drive you mentioned, surly there will be some elves in there.

Right, put the keyboard down sir, and step away from the computer,

yep thats right, hands above your head, we're taking you to a magical place where the binary elves cannot harm you.
