Allright, here's the deal, I have the Ericsson 616. I want to use bluetooth, and the phone works great with bluetooth. WIth my friends Macintosh, and my bluetooth USB dongle, bluetooth works right out of the box. He can interecept calls on his computer, choose to answer, send to voicemail, reply with a text, etc. It shows a picture of the person on the screen. He can send text/email/etc from his computer via his phone. He can also use the phone as a modem, etc.
Now, I'm using Windows XP Pro SP1, and I can't get shit working. It's crap, a horrible load of crap. Other people have had relativly good success with WinXP, but I've had none. I'm using the AmbiCOM Bluetooth dongle. Am I shit out of luck with this one, do I have to get another?

well, the cell phone is obviously working fine. and the usb dongle worked fine on your mates apple box. seems we can narrow it down to usb dongle vs xp.
i am using the same phone with an MSI usb dongle to bluetooth with xpsp1 and haven't run into any probs whatsoever though.
pointless post, but i'm dead tired

Windows XP Gold nor Windows XP SP1 or SP1a did not come with bluetooth support.
Linkage for your convenience and interest:
Bluetooth Support Distribution.I know thisbecause you can't even download the Bluetooth Drivers on Microsoft' Website, you have to use the CD all the time... which does include the bluetooth files needed for XP.
